KC Biz Journal offers an important reality check regarding the so-called recovery or the Kansas City Downtown Renaissance that really doesn't seem to be making a difference: "Jackson, Ray and Cass counties continue to languish in recession even as the overall economy continues to improve. Those Kansas City-area counties remain in recession, even while neighbors Platte and Clay on the Missouri side and Johnson and Wyandotte on the Kansas side have recovered."
