Councilman Jermaine Reed is repeating his attack against what he believes are unacceptable tactics by the KCPD in controlling the ongoing violent teen flash mobs problem on the Country Club Plaza.
Last year he made these same claims but now the young council dude is starting his campaign even before the City Hall hearing on this topic is scheduled.

"Last summer, more than a dozen teens were cited for causing problems on the Plaza and violating the city’s entertainment district curfew. Kansas City Councilman Jermaine Reed said Tuesday new data he obtained from Kansas City police shows 87 percent of the teens cited between May and September of 2013 were black.
"When I look at this information, it does give me a great deal of pause in terms of doing what’s right for the citizens of Kansas City," Reed said.
"According to documents obtained by Councilman Reed, 16 teens were issued citations for violating the city’s entertainment district curfew law during the summer of 2013. Of those teens cited, 14 of them were black. Reed questions if Kansas City Police Officers are racially profiling Black teens."

Sadly, more programs for youngsters didn't solve this problem last year and now politicos are challenging police tactics as the problem spirals out of control . . . Or as election season gets closer.

ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time, I went to a Chiefs game at Arrowhead. A man stood up, pointed his finger at the crowd and yelled "All you people are football fans!" I was SHOCKED and ASTOUNDED that he would unjustly profile me and my friends like that without even talking to us!!!!
A similar thing happened when I attended a country music concert at the Sprint Center. Someone made the claim that the crowd was "just a bunch of white people who like songs about drinking, country life, and relationship troubles!! Why would anyone profile me like that?

Reed is just one more of the racist black politicians who people make excuses for. It seems to be ok for elected officials to go around talking about representing "their people" meaning blacks when in fact they are supposed to be representing all people in their district. None of the districts include all black people. Until this is not ok excuses will still be made by and for them.

Although these suggestions may seem idealistic for KC they involve basic parenting skills: 1) Get an accredited school district by seeing your children are in school learning and not out on the streets 2) Use all methods of birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancies 3) If you are from a family that did not follow #2 and was on welfare, try to break the cycle 3) If you get pregnant make sure you have a 2 parent household 4) If you come from a family that did not encourage a work ethic or education find role models that do 5) Athletes and entertainers may lead glamorous lives but represent a small fraction of the population--choose a more realistic goal in case your dream falls through 6) Respect others of all races 7) The internet provides information on this topic and statistics on violent crime, educational resources, incarnation etc. Use this information to better yourself. This applies to all races as do the taxes used to help with these problems.
