"Kansas City business leaders said Tuesday that KCI airport currently is outdated and presents a stodgy, unimpressive first impression of the city. They said they want an updated airport that will attract and retain strong businesses and reflect the vibrant, progressive community it serves."

Credit to this money crew for keeping it kind of vague and not TOTALLY pimping the single-terminal idea but rather encouraging more pricey updates after this town spent millions fixing up the place not so many years ago.

Somehow people getting held up all over town doesn't present an unimpressive second impression of the city.
ReplyDeleteSeveral businesses will make a lot of money off a big construction project and the rest of the business community can't risk offending those.
I was in the crowd this morning and it was a well rehearsed performance that completely ignored the opposite advice they heard from Southwest a week or two ago. The fact that the Star posted its story within minutes of the meeting shows it was written in advance.
ReplyDeleteThe people will vote NO on this AND NO on the streetcar expansion.
ReplyDeleteKansas City presents a an outdated, stodgy, unimpressive first impression. Let's not blame the airport... Look at the ass clowns on the Shitty Council. Nothing but stodgy and unimpressive there. All the fucked up streets and sewer smells... most outdated and unimpressive features. Why would a business want to go into a new airport? Isn't the money made by having a lot of foot traffic? The airport is a ghost town after 7pm.
ReplyDeleteThey don't even use it. These guys park their lear jets and gulfstreams at downtown airport.
ReplyDeleteThe airport is fine. Sure it has some age on it but come on it's an airport all we need is a place to board and fly out and back in with ease. Myself I like our airport and hear no complaints about it from customers who fly in. About the only thing working in this city without major faults.
