WIBW reports this shocking stat related to local life and stunning odds against local people of color: "The Kansas rate of black homicide victimization is 24.97 per 100,000, which is more than five times the nationwide overall homicide victimization rate of 4.44 per 100,000. The national black homicide victimization rate is still much lower than that of Kansas, at 17.51 per 100,000."

ReplyDeleteImagine the costs to Americans. Homicide investigations are often hundreds of thousands of dollars. ER Rooms, filled with vicitms of violence while the meter runs. Section 8, EBT, Snap, Affirmative Action the list of national, state and city programs in endless in a futile attempt to pretend that blacks will suddenly, genetically be able to meld into society. It hasn't worked in 60 years and it never will.

ReplyDeleteWhile there are certainly random killings in the mix (most caused by a lack of skill and judgement on the shooters' part), most of this is just business and isn't going to go away unless the "business" changes.

I am sorry, but a modern approach is needed in regard to KC's crime problems. Frankly it is going to have to come from outside the city as the culture in local law enforcement is more like the 1940s than anything resembling a modern proactive approach.
