Recently, an urban mag asked: Is Conscious Rap Dead?
In Kansas City . . . That's certainly not the case . . .
Example:
CHECK OUT THIS EPIC KANSAS CITY HIP-HOP CLIP FROM JL B.HOOD AND REACH!!!
Really a masterpiece that harkens back to the glory days of hip-hop and the founding principles of the art form.
Take a look:
Great footage of Kansas City in this one along with nicely crafted animation and graphics.
JL B.Hood "Do You Believe" Official Video ft. Reach
As always, there might be some hateration on this video in the comments but the trolls will be easy to ignore on this one given the outstanding quality of the work and the very thoughtful message of the lyrics lost on so many reactionaries who probably don't have decent taste in any particular form of music.
Nevertheless . . .
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF KANSAS CITY HIP-HOP TAKING US INTO THE NEW YEAR!!!
And once again this musical missive offers more proof that our arts scene is vibrant throughout the metro and even in the urban core.
Developing . . .
That picture makes me want some Fava Beans and a nice Chianti.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteTony, would have been way better if the lip syncing wasn't so bad, and I mean that's bad. I've seen better acting at my granddaughters nursery school. Music is ok, the video is what as whole that gets the high five.
ReplyDeleteJust some more nigger noise.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for it. Guess I'm not as groovy as I thought.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a bow tie would help!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Carl the song was ok but the acting just fucking ruins the video.
ReplyDeleteFuck this song... hip hop is alive and well... These guys are stupid.
ReplyDeleteI believe Reach should lay off the donuts.
ReplyDeleteProbably why the call him reach, he was always reaching for some food.
ReplyDeleteI believe both of these guys rap careers were over before they started.
ReplyDeleteConscious rap isn't dead, these dudes just suck.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was pretty good. It's you guys who suck.
ReplyDeleteMy cock gets hard listening to rap. Smoke some "Cheeba" and it's on.
ReplyDeletesorry, bad spell.... "cheba"
ReplyDeleteLike the opening video sequence, but...as with most rap, the POOR enunciation ruins the effort.
ReplyDeleteMost listeners say, "WTF are they saying?"
its a good effort, but nothing special.... Even Tech couldn't boost this kids career...and Reach needs to stick to freestyling at first Fridays.... TKC do your Kansas City rap/hip hop research.... These guys ain't it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a well written song and not structured around a hook.
ReplyDeleteDo you believe,,,yes we can,,,,hope and change,,,do you believe,,,yes we can,,,,hope and change,,,......Yeah I get it.
ReplyDeleteDo I like niggers? I am offended by that word. If you mean African-Americans, that all depends how you cook them and of course, very important, what wine you serve with them.
ReplyDeleteThw best wine to serve with nigger is Ripple
ReplyDeleteDo you substitute black beans in place of the fava?
