Lesson In Leaving Kansas City: Northland Must Say Goodbye To Grantham!!!

Here's a quick teaching moment for even the nicest parts of this cowtown out in the suburban hinterlands . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT KANSAS CITY IS LOSING THE BORDER WAR AS YET ANOTHER INSTITUTION BAILS OUR BEST NORTHLAND DISTRICT!!!

Check the damage . . .

KC Biz Journal: Grantham University moving HQ, 350 jobs to Lenexa

Deets:

"Grantham’s director of strategic initiatives and external relations, said the university will move this March from about 40,000 square feet at 7200 N.W. 86th St. in Zona Rosa to 66,000 square feet in Southlake Technology Park’s EcoWorks I building at 16025 W. 113th St."

Joke about diploma mills all you want but then remember that Zona Rosa is one of the nicer and more bustling Kansas City entertainment districts . . . So when biz gives up on the newest latest local offering . . . That offers a chilling lesson about the future cross-state competition.

This will be a huge loss for the community. We can no longer consider ourselves to be a real center for intellectual curiosity and free-exchage of ideas.

Very sad day for the metro.

  6. Ok, you have an applicant with a BS from Mizzou...You have another applicant with a degree from Grantham? Hmmm, decisions, decisions...LOL

  7. I never thought that was a good fit for Zona anyway. And 350 jobs? That sounds high. Does anyone even go there? Isn't no one signing up why they think a move will work for them?
