Election Time For Kansas City Public Schools

Note that Dead Tree Media still doesn't mention Gunnar Hand's not so long ago weed bust: Under cloud of possible state takeover, nine file for KC school board seats . . . They're calling this a success despite the fact that votes for these elections can usually be counted on the back of matchbook.

  1. In the last school board election the turnout was 3% Hope these candidates have bigger famiilies than that.
It's like buying a ticket on the Titantic AFTER it has already hit the iceberg.

  2. I thought the city charter issues would be on the April ballot too. Am I mistaken?

  3. I wonder what job that Jennifer Wolfsie is going to be given after doing the district's bidding and getting Patty Mansur elected. 8:55 is right, it's like inbreeding in KC politics, only in this case it's the future of this city's young people at stake. At least there are some decent candidates.... Can we give them all background checks and random drug tests though please?

  4. And please make sure they have some form of higher education and don't leech off of white women to survive. At least have some minimum standards in place for the candidates.

  5. So el Nacho didn't fix the schools or provide proof to support the COO like he claimed in the news conference tony? How many contracts did he steer to Maddie Rhodes Center before he heads to the shitty clowncil? He's going to get his ass handed to him when he tries to run against Jermaine Reed unless he pulls a Theresa and runs at large like the coward he is.

  6. Didn't Airwack buy his seat from the KC board of elections? Ask Shelly Mcthomas or get her drunk at union station and she'll spill the beans on that hommie hook up... Yea this shit hole school district is worth fighting for alright just keep the contracts coming in Airwack!

  7. Wow. There are some haters on here tonight. Hey, why don't one of you step up and run for school board? Serious question though- Do you think we'd attract better or worse candidates if there was some form of financial compensation for the position? The couple of board members who are truly dedicated probably but in 25 or so hours a week. For free. And get slammed every which way...

  8. You can put in those kind of hours for no pay when you don't have a real job and live off of other people.

  9. And it doesn't much matter how much time you put in if you don't have the ability or experience necessary to manage so much as a two-car garage and couldn't read a financial statement if it were prepared for a grade school student.
At least the current board got rid of the most notorious grifters, but they're constantly banging on the door and will be back in a heartbeat.
And all the rest of us are supposed to be concerned?
    Give me a break.
