The Maryville Daisy rape case is done and the only thing that resulted was a misdemeanor verdict and a great deal of disappointment in the power of social media.

Other than sharing A LOT of photos of her daughter online . . . This missive by Dr. Melinda Coleman attempts to clear up some online donation hot mess.
Apparently, there have been a few donation efforts that were using the Daisy case for their own benefit but without the permission of Dr. Coleman or Daisy . . . In this missive she offers her own info and then offers a bit of insight on the recent suicide attempt of her daughter:
"The trigger that set her off was when she went out to attend a party for only one hour. I know that she just wants to be a normal teenage girl. But the bullying that ensued online after she was seen at this party proved too much. She has been called a slut and a liar and told that she deserves to die. She is only 16 years old, and all she ever wanted was to see justice done in her case -- and refuse to be silenced.
"That hurt combined with what had recently been the scare of her life.
"In the months since our case became the subject of widespread media scrutiny, I have seen the dark side of human nature. In addition to the party that she attended -- which resulted in significant backlash on Facebook, including from some of the friends who she grew up with who my deceased husband cared for -- she was recently almost run off the road, which terrified her, because the attack appeared targeted and deadly. We've been followed by a private investigator almost daily since all of this began. Typically I drove the Hummer, but the one day that she was driving it, she found herself so vigorously followed -- with this other car tapping her bumper and flashing his brights -- the experience left her terrified. Even though I got the license plate number, and I've talked to the highway patrol and the special prosecutor, no one can tell me who it was.
"The entire experience triggered her in a way that I refuse to let happen again. I will not lose my daughter."

Once again, most of the claims made by Dr. Coleman are unverifiable and unsubstantiated but mainstream media has already abandoned this story and most of the Internets seems like they'd rather ignore this unfortunate incident than fact check any aspect of this case that actually seems to have set back the cause for speaking out about sex abuse in Missouri.
When Daisy dies, are the bullies going to have a party to celebrate.

ReplyDeleteSeriously. I am familiar with this case and hopefully people will see through Melindas lies and she can be shut down. Daisy had sex first and then started taking shots from the bottle. She was not raped nor was Paige. They did go inside when they got home and as stated here she went back outside. There was no investigators following her and so states the report as accident was only Daisys car. I honestly wish people would research and see how many times their stories have changed throughout this whole ordeal.

Some people are acting like Daisy is the only one getting bullied and harassed. All of the boys, their families and businesses of this town have also got harassed and threatened but are just trying to move on. However, when things die down, Melinda stirs it back up with social media again and her few crazy followers start their calls again. I guess they just have too much time on their hands.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Daisy was a freshman and he was a senior. Why is that so hard to understand? People have always got together and hooked up at that age. I personally think its too young but it happens and it will continue to happen. Not that big of a deal.
Bottom line, it's over. They said all they wanted was a second look at the case and they got it. A democrat, a republican, a female and a male, 2 private investigators and a sheriffs department all came to the same conclusion......she was not raped!!!!
