Coming Soon: Kansas City Anti-Violence Art

Posters placed throughout Kansas City and a bit of creative expression hopes to confront a murder spike that has been going strong for more than half a decade . . . On the other hand, conspiracy theorists might notice a very deliberate theme targeting 2nd Amendment rights: Art takes aim at gun violence in Kansas City

  1. Yeah, I'm sure this will cut down on ghetto violence. After all, critical thinking young black men who are perfectly willing to go to prison over such important things as being disrespected or $10 in weed have an appreciation for art. I'm sure when they are about to cap somebody over some rims, Jordans, or a white guy jogging down the sidewalk, they'll think back to that poster they didn't see in school because they dropped out two years ago and it will stop them from killing somebody over nothing.

  3. The poverty pimps come up with scheme after scheme but in the end nothing will change until they admit kids need two parents.

  4. KCMO will do absolutely ANYTHING to avoid having to find the guts to increase police presence on the east side and do what they can to shut some of these gangs down.
CompStat, ad Hoc, Meet Me in the Middle, Moms Against Crime, NoVa, HotSpots, ShotSpotter, COMBAT, and an endless stream of nonprofits sucking up public money and KCMO has just finished yet another year with over 100 murders and a clearance rate of only 55%.
Poor 'ol Sly's hands are tied, the council completely ignores and neglects the issue, the police board is clueless, and there's no leadership to encourage residents to cooperate with the cops.
What's the next window dressing PR announcement that will be rolled out?
Maybe somehow a new airport terminal and the streetcar can find some new rationales as "anti-crime" projects.
What a pitiful and tragic joke.
