this story was not well researched. Mr. Litrell was in support of fiscal conservatism. In fact he ran for the Board of Trustee's last year campaigning precisely that. With most of the budget going to police and fire the only way to reign in the budget and get in the black was to cut back on police and fire. This was a media stunt by the FORMER police and fire chiefs that is a disgrace to Mr. Litrell. How dare they and the media use his death to say the opposite of what he said in life. This was a classless political maneuver that had no concern for mr. litrell's family.

He could've called the sheriff's office.
Just a thought.

the police do not keep people from killing each other. there is no need to place the blame anywhere else other than the killers hands. He's a grown adult he made his own decisions he's the only one at fault period. you could have had a million police officers working that night and if he still wanted to kill his father he would have found the opportunity.
