One of the most insightful voices in the TKC Comments section recently made a funny that's worth repeating in light of so many unrealistic expectations touted by Kansas City football fans.

ReplyDelete(cc) Tony uses a weak comment from a weak commenter to poke Chiefs fans because he is still butt-hurt over the indifferent response KC had to Sporting KC "championship"; Chuck and Byron plan a day window shopping on the Plaza.
That's not a very good point about sporting KC indifference. I wonder if you might not have seen the thousands of people who packed union station when they won or the stadium full of fans?

ReplyDeleteGiven that the chiefs have only played half of the teams in the NFL that can beat their asses into the dirt the odds of them even getting two games into the playoffs are incredible.
ReplyDeleteWhy should we not be optmistic about our chances. The national sports press think the Chiefs are much better because of their offense. why not get on the band wagon.
ReplyDeleteWell, since 12 teams make the playoffs and only one of then win the Super Bowl, it's not very daring to predict playoff failure for all 12 of them.

ReplyDeleteSo, the Chiefs will be given their comeuppance in the play-offs?!...Who the hell cares, Tony. We had a good season, and I for one am happy with that. I guess when you are a glass-is-empty sort of guy, even at 11-3, you can't be happy with that. It's too bad, but not unexpected, with your track record for doom and gloom in every direction.
