Report regarding Kansas City Police officer facing gunfire today:
Officer Involved Shooting
Shortly before 1100 am this morning, KCPD officers were conducting a residence check at a residence in the 500 block of N. Lawndale for a subject wanted in regard to a Platte County Warrant. While the officers were still outside the residence, a party inside the residence began shooting at the officers. The party shot multiple rounds at the officers striking one in his leg. Several officers returned fire. The officers then took up positions of cover until it was safe to extract them and get the injured officer medical treatment. The injured officer, a 15 year veteran and member of our Tactical Response Team, was transported to an area hospital. It appears his injuries will be minor.
An operation 100 was then called. At 1:00 pm tactical officers made entry into the residence where they later located the suspect. It appeared the suspect had been shot. He was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.
The scene was cleared and is now being processed by detectives.

ReplyDeletePoor families!!! Looks to me the system has failed both these families.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was illegal to shoot police officers, maybe if we had stricter gun laws this would not have happened!
ReplyDeleteWell if the Police wouldn't have put this individual in this precarious situation then he wouldn't have shot one of their officers!
ReplyDeleteJust like when Police have a car chase and an innocent motorist gets hit or injured, they are the ones to blame in these situations obviously. Simply because they are the ones who caused the situation to escalate!
You can't seriously blame the criminals for their actions, they are simply trying to avoid going to jail. The Police should know better!!!!
I hope that this is sarcasm. If so, well done lol. If not, find the tallest building, go to the top, enjoy the view, and then jump off. Dick
