The fight for the $15-per-hour minimum wage continues in 100 cities across the nation and Kansas City continues . . .
Special thanks to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS for the reminder and this link to the national announcement . . .
New York Times: Wage Strikes Planned at Fast-Food Outlets
Remember that Congressman Cleaver (photo above) joined this protest movement during the Summer . . . This effort to recapture momentum might endure harsher temperatures as Thursday protest could coincide with colder temps which might (or might not) inspire more sympathy from locals.
Developing . . .
If these clowns put as much effort into their education as they will waste demanding the impossible, they wouldnt be working a shit job to begin with. Fire anyone who participates.
ReplyDeleteI say we give these assholes 15 an hour then all the people who don't really need to work will get out and work for that sort of money, then we can get rid of this bunch who fucking don't want to work even if they are making 15 an hour and fuck everything up when they do work.
ReplyDeleteSo 6:29 I think your saying these fools will fuck themselves out of a job in the end.
ReplyDeleteHow about a strike against Cleaver demanding he pay his bills.
ReplyDeleteNo skills, no bucks.
ReplyDeleteIf the wage for McDonalds hits even 10 an hour, then mom and pop will open up hamburger stands everywhere and the same folks who are whining about McDonalds will whine about mom and pop.
Look, I am no big buddy of Walmart, but the folks whowing up there are union employees more than they are Walmart employees.

People in China are working for .20 an hour. This kills opportunity for American workers with average to low IQ. Sorry, it is what it is. The problem is, that horse is out of the barn and the Global Economy is NOT getting put back in the barn or the bottle or back in vacant factories all over the US.
ReplyDeleteSkilled and semi-skilled workers are of no use in a country as rich as the US. "Rich" is a subjective term. You think you are poor. people sifting through garbage in Mexicao City, think you are Rockefeller.
It is too late to save garden variety, run of hte mill high school graduates who think the world owes them a living for thier C average in a Common Core Curriculum.
You are fucked.
chuck you are fucking retarded. why dont you go read a book. government antipoverty subsidies have no business going into the pockets of mcdonalds stockholders just so mcdonalds and other fast food places can avoid paying a living wage. why dont u go suck that bronze cast of barry goldwaters dick that you have sitting on your mantle, and then maybe push a young, single latina woman living on poverty wages over a bridge.

ReplyDeleteYou much mistake my sympathies pal. Look, I am total white trash making about 30K a year and have Zilch sympathy for big business and the fuckheads on Wall Street that killed the most recent semblence of the American economy.
The facts are the facts. Affective and emotional appeal to some narrative of displacement mind and body by the eveil corporations may or may not be right (Probably some where in teh middle, as always.), but it is in no way a useful strategy for taking care of you and your family.
I repeat, no skills, no bucks.

ReplyDeleteI am telling you, a mandate or fiat rule by an imaginary or real King Obama and company, to make 15.00 an hour the minimum wage in companies like McDonalds will not help folks in the same white and black trash paradigm that I exist in.
If the price of hamburgers goes up here, it goes down there.
By the way, suck Adam Smith's invisible dick.
Of all the no skilled jobs to protest wages anything having to do with food would not be a very bright move in this economy. What fucking dumb shit union is behind this?
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout they run out to the sports complex and protest the shitty wages the vendors employees make? Aren't those part of those fantastic jobs that were going to come to KC with the stadium complex?
Ever see the movie Idiocracy? This is happening in this country. The stupid folks are popping out kids like crazy and responsible intelligent folks are popping out few kids.
ReplyDeleteI got a question for Congressman Cleaver: should people working at the carwash make $15/hour?
ReplyDeleteTechnology doesn't call in sick and demand time and a half for overtime. It never goes on vacation. Employers don't have to supply it with health insurance, or pay into social security and medicare on technology's behalf.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing demanding $15/hr will do is incentivize the pace at which technology is substituted for labor. Within six months every McDonalds, Burger King, and Taco Bell in the country will be fitted up with self serve touch screen kiosks in which customers place their own order and swipe their own debit/credit card. Human order takers will very soon be obsolete. It's going to happen anyway - but demanding $15/hr will just provide stronger incentives to speed up the process in which no skilled order takers are replaced by electronic gizmos.
Cleaver works, sort of, but still doesn't pay his bills. Maybe if they unionized Congress??
ReplyDeleteYou can get college grads for 15. Then the ones working now will protest against the dumbfks that raised the wage.
ReplyDeleteThis is a mis-guided effort led by brken down unions trying to boost numbers both for potential members and Dem voters in upcoming elections. It's going to backfire on them in multiple ways. These fholks are going to be really disillusioned when they don't get their $15 because no way that's happening. If thete is success in increasing the minimum wage it won't be seen as much of a victory because the unions once again promise what they can't deliver. Lose/Lose. It's also mis-guided to focus on fast-food workers. 1. Because most of them (the adults stuck in fast-food hell) are not quality employes for a variety of reasons and 2. There are many educated, quality employees in many lines of work thatdo not make $15/hr.
ReplyDeleteThe unions are organized. They just don't know what to do with fast food workers demanding some Occupy type deal that doesn't require a contract. 15 dollars an hour with a 40 hour work week and health benefits.
ReplyDeleteThis should be as effective as the Black Friday Walmart strike. Strike? What strike?
