It has been accomplished . . . Union Station dude George Gustello has dropped a lemon on KCMO and cleared his balance sheet in EPIC fashion.
Northeast News: City Council votes to sever KC Museum management contract with Union Station
In the aftermath an important complaint has already surfaced . . . Take a look:
"With the dissolution of the Kansas City Museum Advisory Board, we're now looking at Northeast Kansas City having very little say over an institution in our backyard. Good luck taking complaints to the Parks Board. Everybody knows their main priority is the Zoo, the golf courses (that take in revenue) and so many other responsibilities. Once again, Northeast seems like it's last on this list thanks to a lack of representation on the Council."
Developing . . .
I think another way of saying this is that Northeast hasn't had very much luck with their Parks Board reps because their board is dominated with political appointments
ReplyDeleteWhat are the demographics these days of "northeast" Kansas City? I dont even know what area they consider it to be.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Scott Wagner will take care of them. God knows he doesn't represent 1st district, the seat he was elected to.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that the current council representation for the 3rd and 4th Districts portions of Northeast is seriously lacking, I do have "hope" for the new arrangement and have tremendous faith in the Parks Department which is probably the best run agency within city government.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing the Museum isn't run by Northeast folk. Too many of the "power brokers" in that neighborhood don't think globally and don't understand what would attract the masses to the museum. Shit, these are the folks that have totally restricted access to Cliff Drive to the point that nobody gets to really enjoy it unless they want to go on a hike. They don't like it when people enjoy the parks either, unless they're white and speak english.
ReplyDeleteIt's a joke the paper said all parties where happy. The museum was just killed and the party was put on by Wagner. Thanks Scott
ReplyDeleteWhere was Royster on all of this ,he was on the Board.
ReplyDeleteNo, Royster had been on the MAB in the past but not currently.
ReplyDeleteJesus Tony! Other than the few people who have their fingers in the pie who in this town even gives a shit about that damn museum anyway? Hell, shut the damn thing down and let some private foundation run the thing without the city screwing it up. There are plenty of fat cats willing to fund it. If not who will actually miss it?
ReplyDeleteYou could say that same thing for all of KC. But on this one Jan and Glover let us down.
ReplyDeleteGlover and Marcason's sole purpose on the MAB has been, at least recently, to do damage control for the USKC board, nothing more. Gotta protect THOSE interests first ya know.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a shit? It's Northeast.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to fuck something up in KC just let George Bah Bah Guestello waste the taxpayers money. That ass clown goes to cocktail parties, sucks up to the money bags, then gets these kiss ass jobs, American Royal, Chamber of Commerce, and now Union Station. Then he fucks them up and goes to another 501-3c and fucks it up. What a total douche bag.
ReplyDeleteSay "no" to the toy train pet project, you lose your toys. It's that simple.
