KANSAS CITY DEBATES DUCK DYNASTY!!!

Strangely enough . . . Most of the e-mails sent our way today related to the fall from grace of the Duck Dynasty Commander Phil Robertson over insensitive racial and homophobic remarks . . . Mostly dwelling on anus attraction. Ewwwww.

Anyhoo . . .

CHECK JUST A FEW E-MAILS SENT TO TKC ON THIS TOPIC THAT'S NOT QUITE LOCAL BUT STILL A CAUSE FOR CONCERN!!!

Here are the highlights . . .

PISSED OFF DUCKIE SAYS: "You want to talk intolerance and disparity. Look no further than these people who want to censor a man for simply speaking his mind. If they don't like the show then they don't have to watch, but the fact that some people wanted him banished from TV just shows them to be oppressors."

Duck Hater Comments: " . . . Halleluiah! This show is one step closer to being off the air. But this homophobe gave me one more reason to avoid shopping at Walmart."

Free Speech For Ducks Finishes A Common Theme: "I guess there's no freedom of speech when you say something that offends a minority group. Phil is an entertainer, his is not an elected official. He shoots straight from the hip and the fact we're not even allowed to think certain politically incorrect thoughts shows you how much of our liberty has been stripped away."

So now we put it to you d-bags . . . (gross) . . .

ARE THE COMMENTS OF THE DUCK COMMANDER FREE SPEECH OR HATE SPEECH?!?!? DOES HE DESERVE TO BE VANQISHED BY LGBT ADVOCATES?!?!

  1. Duck Commander? Does he command ducks?

  2. Tony, I don't see anything racist up there. He didn't even say anything bad about gays. He described what they lust after and that he doesn't get it, but loves everyone. I see the usual baiters calling it vile. But if the description of gay activity is so vile...why do you keep doing it?

  3. Dick Commander. Commands them to avoid the arse and seek out the cozier vagina.

  4. Opinion is opinion and this issue gets little traction with me. It would be good to remember though, that the guy who started the worst race riot in America and has subsequently incited violence, murder and unrest througout America, has his OWN CABLE TV NEWS PROGRAM.

If Al fuckin Sharpton can be on TV, than this duck guy, whoever he is, should be too.

You just can't get away with invoking bestiality when talking about gays. Was he drunk during the interview or just momentarily brain dead?
Just a corny, hackneyed show for guffawing rubes anyway. The same idiot class that loved the GIT-R-DUN Fartsniffer's comedy.

  6. Well, his right of free speech isn't being violated because he wasn't dragged out into the street and shot. His employer, just like my employer, has every right to moderate what he says when appearing on their air. He can stand on the street corner and scream FAGFAGFAG until his ducky dick falls off and no one will question his right to do so. He just can't be an asshole on television and not expect to get smacked.

Its true. They dont like people who arent from their parts (westport, downtown). They like shitty beer, but instead of doing manly jobs, they play tummy sticks instead.

  8. This is just A&E's attempt to ward off a left wing attack while still going to the bank. Fact is if A&E really thought these comments were bad the show would have been pulled. In this case A&E gets the loot and still sucks up to the lefties. I got a steak dinner says the old man will be back on the show in little to nothin' and I even bet they continue to pay him during his vacation. It is all about spin and the bucks. Fuck the scruples.

  26. If I was in education, and read the nature of the moronic opinions of so many Americans... utterly stupid and without any critical thinking, I'd wonder how they all got passed me.

Or maybe teachers know...because they didn't give a shit. It's not a racial thing... these are ignorant white people that weren't ever taught how to think.

What fertile ground America has become for a demagogue!

  28. Dr. Ernest Evans12/19/13, 11:14 PM

Dear Mr. Tony: In the words of a song from my misspent youth: "Something strange is happening here. What it is ain't exactly clear." First, a few days ago we were subjected to screaming media headlines announcing that Megan Kelly had said that Santa Claus is white. Now, we have another set of screaming headlines because someone on "Duck Dynasty" says homosexuality is a sin. Neither of these "stories" deserves anywhere near the amount of attention they have received. So, exactly why is the political class wringing their hands in a frenzy of totally phoney moral outrage over these non-events? Come on guys, what is the real agenda here? Take care!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  32. Dear Mr. Tony: Several years ago liberal columnist Nat Hentoff said that the real threat to freedom of speech in America came not from the Christian right but from the Politically Correct Left. Recent events have shown him to be correct. The fact that the NYC Police Commissioner was shouted down at my alma mater Brown by a group of young storm troopers, and now the media frenzies over Megan Kelly and one the the characters on "Duck Dynasty" show that the PC Police are trying to silence all dissent from their point of view. And, no, the issue is not whether "stop and frisk" is a good idea, whether Santa Claus is white, or whether homosexuality is sinful--the issue is whether people can have the freedom to express their ideas without fear of retaliation. We are right back where we were in 1950-1954 during the McCarthy era: Basic rights under our Constitution are being denied, and the craven press is mostly sitting by doing nothing to stop it: In 1954 the press did nothing to stop McCarthy because they were terrified of being accused of being "soft on Communism," it was not until the late, great Edward R. Murrow stood up to McCarthy that the press corps finally got some guts. Now the press corps sits by and does nothing because they are terrified of being accused of being racists or homophobes--they are repeating the gutless behavior they showed in the leadup to the Iraq War where they refused to stop the insane rush to war because they were afraid of being accused of being "soft on terrorism." It is time for the American people to stand up and say to the PC Police of the left and the Patriotism Police of the right that you all have got to stop trying to deny ordinary Americans their rights of free expression. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  33. He paraphrases 1 Corinthians 6 and is demonized? As a Bible believing Christian, I guess I'm to be ostracized too?

  34. ....because they didn't give a shit. It's not a racial thing... these are ignorant white people that weren't ever taught how to think.

I don't think you know a thing about this family. Until Willie came along (with his business degree), they were making ok money with their duck call business. He took this company to the next level, and then after getting the TV deal with A&E, he did what a "smart" businessman does...strike while the iron is hot. They are multi-millionaires because of Willie and some very intelligent business decisions.

GQ knew exactly what they were doing when they asked Phil that question, and rubbed their hands in glee when he responded honestly.

I don't agree with Phil, but this family is a strong faith-filled family, who make their family priority one.

Does Phil have a right to express his opinion on what sin is, you betcha...Does A&E have a right to ask him to step back from the show...another you betcha.

I think the Robertson's will come out on top with this. Their integrity has not been damaged. A&E, on the other hand, look like a company who has knuckled under pressure from a minority group. Most American's don't like that much.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Dear 9:50: I think that you are right, whatever Americans think about gay rights or racism, they do not like the idea of interest groups trying to censor the media. Interestingly, all of the current proposals for censorship are done in the name of "tolerance." Reminds me of a famous line in Dostoyevsky's novel "The Possessed": "I find a contradiction in my philosophy, i start our with total freedom and end up with total slavery." The modern day US "tolerance" movement has become the moral equivalent of Joe McCarthy--in the immortal words of Pogo: "We have met the enemy, and he is us." Our nation is waiting desperately for a new Edward R. Murrow to appear. Take care!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  42. Shows like Duck Dynasty are partially responsible for the dumbing down of America.
I respect the right for one to voice their opinion, even if I don't agree with it, but with that right also comes consequences.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The only reason this is an issue is that most people don't understand the First Amendment. Did any of the Duckies get arrested or rounded up by the government? No, then they received all their First Amendment protections. Nothing in the Constitution guarantees you can say what you want without repercussions. If you make vile comments about someone or something and piss people off, they will express themselves in some fashion. You don't get respect for being disrespectful. Everyone knows that but they insist on being offended. You reap what you sow.
