COMING SOON: KANSAS CITY BIKE TAX?!?!

Given that Kansas City local government continues to live on loans and tax increases . . . There's an option on the table for a great many struggling municipalities that would make a lot of sense in this cowtown.

To wit . . .

IS IT TIME FOR A KANSAS CITY BIKE TAX IN ORDER TO PAY FOR SO MANY ACCOMMODATIONS FOR LOCAL CYCLISTS?!?!?

Chicago isn't alone in thinking about a bike tax . . .

Here's why a bike tax would make sense in Kansas City:

- This town needs more transit revenue in a bad way . . . Bikers are easy marks given their constant advocacy and requests for more cash.

- A Kansas City Bike Tax might be welcomed by cyclists in order to become more "vested" in this town and earn another talking point for their continued levy requests.

- A Kansas City Bike Tax and cyclist registration for adults like the Critical Mass d-bags would make them accountable for often rude behavior on local streets.

And so .. . It's always been one way for biking d-bags in Kansas City . . . They typically push expensive public street accommodations that mostly go unused BUT NOW given desperate circumstances for Kansas City finances and a structurally unbalanced budget . . . NOW it just might be time for Kansas City cyclists to start paying their fare share in the new year.

Developing . . .

  2. I agree tax them and make them display a tag just as a car does only smaller so when one of the assholes does stupid shit we can tell the po po the number on the bike instead of saying some dude on maybe a Schwinn tricycle.

  3. Hey is it time for you to stop making up nonsense out of thin freakin' air?

Is it time for Kansas City to tax Slanderella $4.50 every time he dreams up something out of sheer speculation?

Afterall, there is always more, and it is always worse.

    So, definitely.

  6. Never underestimate Kansas City's ability to find new ways to tax it's populace and the surrounding areas. Sly and his merry band of thieves on the City Council.

  7. Bike tax should be used to teach bicyclist the rules of the road. Like they need to stop at stop signs. Idiots.

  8. The so-called "bike path" on Bannister, just east of State Line is never used, but there is a reason. There are very rough grates, and I would hate to be a biker trying to ride this trail. If we are going to tax bicycles, do we have to provide them with RIDEABLE paths? If so, it might end up losing us money.
