As a graduate of the institution TKC is proud to note that UMKC is the place where TKC first learned to be a PC thug and then, in turn, anger lesbians with no sense of humor.

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS LETTER FROM CHANCELLOR LEO MORTON THAT'S RAISING A RUCKUS AMONG STAFF AND STUDENTS!!!
It's a typically pleading pitch. However, what makes UMKC insiders angry is . . .
"UMKC Foundation making political contributions (almost $100K) from inside of the campus (Administrative Building). Also, sending out political mail on official letterhead."
It doesn't take a lot to make the denizens of the city college angry this memo did the trick. Expect angry profs and a bevy of student activists to file this bit of campaign literature to use against Morton when the politics of the university turn against him sooner than he expected.

Come on people - think - educate yourselves - this tax will benefit UMKC the most - more than any other entity - you are supposed to be smarter than the rest of us - sheesh!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone say with a straight face that this is not campaign material. Yet it's being paid for with tax dollars and not reported on any campaign disclosures. But it's only illegal when it's done by a political outsider.
ReplyDeleteTo that same point 3:39PM, can anybody say with a straight face that Tindall is recruiting people through Urban Summit using the Jackson County Legislative tax resources? It's apparently overlooked when you're a political insider too.

ReplyDeleteThe UMKC Foundation is not a tax supported entity. Use of University facilities by the Foundation for political purposes remains questionable.

And remember that Morton didn't get this job through academia. He was an executive at, of all places, Aquila, and was promoted by his Chamber of Commerce buds for the UMKC job after Aquila rolled belly up.
