SHOCK!!! JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS FEAR THAT QUESTION 1 DEFEAT WILL EARN EXEC MIKE SANDERS AN ELECTION CHALLENGE!!!
For the record, it's important to note that Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders has never faced a real challenger in career.
His greatest threat came from Doc. Wheeler well past the former Mayor's time. Also, Doc Wheeler is now quasi-homeless.
Accordingly . . .
JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS SAY THAT IF QUESTION 1 GOES DOWN IN FLAMES: A CHALLENGE TO THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE BECOMES A POSSIBILITY!!!
The money quote:
"Think about, the property tax issue is enough to power a campaign, now there's this translational research question that is unpopular in a lot of neighborhoods. Mike doesn't make a lot of mistakes but supporting a controversial sales tax right before election time is a big one and it could represent a real opportunity for a challenger to arise."
In fairness, Mike Sanders is considered to be so crafty that he wins over campaign competition before the contests even start.
Still . . . Only a staunch supporter or a clueless Dead Tree Media dude would deny that there is consequence to losing more than a million bucks from the Civic Council and some of the most elite denizens of Kansas City politics.
Developing . . .
Don't run against him TKC.
ReplyDeleteDon't even think about it.
Why doesn't Sanders and most of the rest of the zeros on the Jackson County Legislature try to spend just a little of their time actually doing their jobs, like providing some oversight of assessing property, running a jail, maintaining county roads and bridges, a decently run court system, and the few other responsibiilities that county government actually has?
ReplyDeleteInstead, that is, of cheerleading for train systems, medical research, and what they're all going to run for next?
County government has pretty much NOTHING to offer the people who actually live here and pay taxes.
Not voting for him anyway. He's toast.
ReplyDeleteWell said Tony ,everything has a price including tax increases. And when a that person does appear the Civic Council will run to them.
ReplyDeleteSanders better have good totals in Eastern Jackson County thats his base.
ReplyDeleteVote no on 1!
ReplyDeleteVote No on 1. Also, everyone of these idiots will have a challenger next time they are up. Guaranteed.
ReplyDeletewell if the civic council wants him out for blowing their gamble on sneaking this by the voters, perhaps the organizations that are mad at him for getting it on the ballot in the first place will run someone who thinks the goal of local governments should be to provide basic services economically and transparently.
ReplyDeleteMike will be a judge, he has too many skeletons.
ReplyDeleteCindy Circo
ReplyDeleteThis was a bad mistake that keeps getting worse, wait till after the election and people see where the the money went .Payoffs and grease flowing.
ReplyDeleteUltimate power corrupts, Mike has finally got caught up he is waiting to join Katherine and Waris in the ex County Executive line.
ReplyDeleteSanders call the favor now become a judge.
ReplyDeleteJust Vote no
ReplyDeleteGet this guy out of there, he is not a leader he is just a shill for Nutter.
ReplyDeleteSo long, Mike!
Not only is Question 1 really questionable, taxpayers are paying for a county-wide election for one question.
ReplyDeleteAdd that to Mike's fuck-ups.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure with some vocational training he will be able to get a real job.
ReplyDeleteMike should start looking for a new job right NOW.
ReplyDeleteSly is going to destroy Mike it's payback time.
ReplyDeleteCindy Circo, nail tech!
ReplyDeleteMike couldn't make it without sucking on the government tit. Try hanging up a shingle for your law practice, Mike - but I doubt you could make it on your own.
ReplyDeleteSend Mike home to Georgia and the boys.
