C-LIST STAYS WINNING @ KANSAS CITY SPRINT CENTER AND STILL NO PRO TEAM!!!

The plan to bolster Kansas City car rental fees and the career of Nickelback seems to be working perfectly . . .

KSHB: Kansas City’s very own Sprint Center has been ranked as the seventh busiest arena in the United States.

On the downside . . . The Sprint Center isn't helping to assuage the $14 million+ debt this year for the long-suffering and TKC Boycotted P&L District. Developing . . .

  1. But for Sprint Arena who would be going to P & L?

And I believe Sprint has shared profits with the city each year.

Can you imagine still having venues at Kemper and what the downtown area would look like???

  2. As usual your rant makes no sense. You take success and lump it with failure to make an attempt to drag this city down. Fuck, asshole. GO BACK TO MEXICO OR WHEREVER YOUR SORRY ASS CAME FROM.

  3. why do people have to be so foul mouthed when leaving commets?

  4. The Sprint Center does not make a profit unless you count the revenue from taxes on hotels and rental cars as income.

I don't see its the city's job to make downtown real estate owners wealthy to the detriment of the entire city.

  5. I keep saying it. We were sold, "if you build it, they will come". Here we are, a handful of years later and we still do not have the pro team they lead us to believe we'd get. And no one in power seems to even want to try anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Sprint Center is here and all. But, IMO, it's a glorified concert hall that just happens to occasionally host sporting events. Approx $276M for a venue to host mostly concerts. Couldn't we have saved some money and just built a venue for concerts?

Since it's unlikely we'll ever get an NHL or NBA team, and the fact that no one in power in this city even seems interested in getting one, good luck getting my vote to approve hundreds of millions of dollars for the next arena when Sprint Center is deemed to "old". Fool me once....

  6. AEG must be making a fortune having been given the Arena on a solver platter.

  7. 11:49 Did you just now figure out that our civic leaders routinely lie to us? Union Station, a pro sports team, Kemper won't be scrapped, the P & L District will pay for itself. Now they promise us prosperity through translational research.

  9. And to make it worse, AEG gets the lion's share of the profit from the Sprint Center. Even though tax payer dollars (through the hotel and rental car tax) are paying for the arena. Maybe I'm wrong, but since the public is paying for the arena, shouldn't the public get the lion's share of the direct profits instead of the already rich folks running the arena?
