Today at noon HUNDREDS of Kansas City protestors stood in front of the Federal Courthouse in Downtown Kansas City as part of a nationwide 100 city "Justice For Trayvon" rally.
The march was organized by local activist and educator Ina P. Montgomery as part of an effort organized by Al Sharpton's National Action Network.
The rally was peaceful but included adamant demands of Federal Civil Rights charges against George Zimmerman for the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin along with a continued call to stop local homicides.

KC Call journalist Eric Wesson spoke to the crowd regarding the realities of "stand your ground laws" and the aftermath of the case. His remarks earned thunderous applause. Mr. Wesson reminded the crowd: "The main thing is the main thing!"
Again, shouts of "No Justice, No Peace" rang out in Downtown Kansas City.
However, THE ABSOLUTE BEST TKC TIPSTERS report that there was not a single instance of violence at the rally.
Another shout from the crowd: "Let's make some noise, it's about our boys!"
The spirited rally advocating civil rights ended in prayer.
Further marches and "Justice for Trayvon" rallies are planned throughout the Summer in Kansas City.

ReplyDeleteIt was a great event with people of all races who understand injustice. There were actually about 150 people there (around 11:30) I was proud that KC showed up and showed out.
ReplyDeleteThese protestors are doing the right thing by higlighting all of the issues about this case. We can't do anything about what happened in Florida but we can remind our community that we need to protect and look after our children.

To them, "justice for Trayvon" would have been to allow this little thug to attack and beat a "creepy-ass cracker" just because he wanted to, without the "creepy-ass cracker" defending himself. The fault lies with the millions who idolize athletes, rappers, hip-hoppers and race-bozos who are rarely held to account for their actions in their dumb-ass sub-culture. If Trayvon had been taught that actions bring consequences, he might have controlled his actions and be alive today. Great job mom and dad.

Here's an idea for all those concerned about their children, black or white. Get married. Stay married. Stay out of jail. Stay off drugs and booze. Work. Work two jobs if you have to. Raise your kids to respect themselves and others. Keep them in school or teach them at home and make them study. Teach them to respect those who work, produce and raise good families, not those who can play with a ball and talk shit. Try to act like grown ups and maybe, just maybe, you'll turn your lives, the lives of your kids, your neighborhoods, your school districts and your cities around. Do it or don't do it - it's your call - because an increasing number of us are more than tired of listening to your endless, ridiculous, self-centered whining about "injustice". Okay, now you can go back to your demonstrations, candle light vigils, BS speeches by race-baiters and poverty pimps, getting your nails done with my money and waiting for your EBT card to be reloaded, since you don't seem to be able to figure out how to support yourselves or raise your own kids.
It saddens me greatly that there is a large segment of our population that does not understand the American Dream but only the nightmare of race politics. And it saddens me even more that there are those who take advantage of them and insure that their bondage continues all to further their own careers. I pray for the day when people will realize that there is no such thing as the black race, or the white race, or the yellow race, or the red race. God created only one race – the human race. Man created the rest.
