TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY CROSSROADS STANDS UP AGAINST CID TAX CRACKDOWN!!!

A bit of VERY IMPORTANT Signage was just messaged my way regarding Kansas City's Crossroads.

To wit . . .

TAKE A LOOK AT THE FIRST SIGN OF RESISTANCE TO CID TAXES ON THE CROSSROADS!!!

CID = Community Improvement District = Higher Taxes For Limited Services Upgrade = Extortion For Businesses Who Don't Want It.

Let's remember that Crossroads is one of the few districts in Kansas City that was developed organically and without massive City Hall subsidy. Now the effort to drain biz and raise taxes is in full effect.

Kudos to organizers that realize higher Kansas City taxes simply crack down on creativity.

  1. Good for Crossroads. We have cid at River Market and about all they do is sweep the streets by hand. They do an awful job of maintenace at the mini parks in the area. Last winter they cleared the sidewalks along public property. This year they lost interest in doing this.

  2. CID is another tax to provide the basic services that Sly should already be providing. Another KCMO ripoff!

  3. CID's great in Waldo, but to each their own I suppose.

  4. KCMO just can't stand the fact that the Crossroads district was successful without the meddling of the eco devo crowd. Now they want to get out front so they can take credit for success.

  5. Is this another one of Dave Johnson's crusades like the toy train? He lives in the Crossroads. Is Matt Staub in on this too?

  6. As they start to undergo training, many people learn new relevant
skills and gain self-belief in themselves. Poker-TEL gives you view to world
    rate training and information.

  7. Let's hope David & Matt will move to JoCo. And they can start ruining the burbs.

  8. How does the CID keep the Crossroads from being creative? Is creative synonymous with poor?

  9. They only need CID for First Fridays. The rest of the time it's zzzz down there.

  10. Old northeast just initiated one. They are even having a public celebration tomorrow evening. I suggested that they hold it at the local funeral parlor. They didn't understand my logic.

  12. Crossroads is a giant TIF plan area. Don't believe the drivel from folks who say it was "organic" redevelopment. It is a TIF area that works. But it is TIF supported- make no mistake about that.

  13. 5:05 is correct. Much of Crossroads is in a TIF district.

  14. Jesus, how many f-ing taxes are there in KCMO? I think 25% of my restaurant bill is taxes every time I eat there.

  15. If the people who wanted the CID wanted better suits, it would be called "protection" money.

  16. Crossroads = Just a bunch of downtown loft dwellers that no one likes. You should be focusing on protesting them instead of the street car.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The Crossroads loft dwellers are the ones who imposed the streetcar and all the taxes that go with it on the rest of us. Dave Johnson is a Crossroads loft dweller.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Another fatality from the Mayor / Johnson Streetcar folly! Crossroads should have reserved their support for the streetcar until they had the CID in place.

  19. Most of crossroads is in TIF district.

Stretch takes the tax handouts, but cries when votes don't go the way him and Sue and their corporate big-money backers want. Boo hoo. Poor stretchy.
