Roeland Park Broke Without Walmart Cash!!!
Another example of a small town at the mercy of a corporate giant in much the same way the big law firms run Kansas City Proper.
Check the damage:
NBC Action News: "City officials in Roeland Park, Kan., are grappling with how to make up a potential revenue shortfall of roughly $700,000 if (when) Walmart leaves town as expected sometime next year."
In very practical terms, look for more speed traps and traffic crackdowns in Roeland Park as they just might pick up the Mission, Ks. approach to generating revenue.
Update . . . Or they could just shut down Roeland Park altogether: Roeland Park Police Department could close when Walmart shuts down
