Behind the scenes . . . A great many Kansas City power brokers and civic activists have been following this ongoing saga for at least a couple of years . . . The story has made for great gossip and more than a few exasperated sighs along with insights into community infighting that could apply to almost every tight-knit group in this town.
And now, here's the conclusion with all of the official details:
Kansas City Jewish Chronicle: NRT wins civil dispute with its former rabbi
"A panel of three arbitrators unanimously ruled April 18 for The New Reform Temple, denying Rabbi Jacques Cukierkorn's breach of contract claims against the congregation. In addition the arbitrators ruled in favor of NRT’s counterclaims for breach of fiduciary duty and for fraud."
#####
We are wondering whether or not the kind folks at the NRT will name something in their new Garden of Eden after their former Rabbi who they clipped for about $500,000? At least name a bench after the poor schmuck!
ReplyDeleteNever have I seen a guy fall so far without a substance abuse problem.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the Rabbi's new congregants are thinking?
ReplyDeleteWho cares what the new people think, I am wondering what the donors to the NRT's Rabbi Discretionary Fund are thinking? Certainly, they must not be happy that their Temple leaders allowed their money to be, apparently, misappropriated. Has anyone been contacted by the NRT with an offer to get their money back?
ReplyDeleteMaybe they should pay back the neighborhood for tearing down a perfectly serviceable street fronting retail building and replacing it with a bullshit flower garden.
ReplyDeleteWay to contribute to the destruction of the urban core, assholes.
Nice reporting, Tony. We will be looking for the follow up reporting on the criminal charges that must be soon to follow. It's good to see you and the blogging community on this story.
ReplyDeleteAnon 816... Lay off the Jews! It seems that they have enough troubles amongst themselves. No need for an anti Semite like you to pile on!
ReplyDeleteWe take great pride in noting that the rabbi was not in favor of the plan to knock the building down. We are not proud that it seems that he got his hands caught in the NRT cookie jar.
ReplyDeleteIs Gregory and Main considered the urban core?
ReplyDeleteDyin', just DYIN' for a Rueben sandwich and a pickle!
ReplyDeleteYou can find the pickle crammed up the rabbi's butt. People have been know to eat crow. No reason to think you wouldn't eat a pickle covered with stool, Shmool.
ReplyDeleteIt appears to me that all the characters in this situation brought shame and ridicule upon themselves and the entire Jewish Community. A "shanda" is what I believe the rabbi would call this.
ReplyDeletethanks tony you antisemite
ReplyDeleteCircumcision on the penis feels good when its inside
ReplyDeleteChurches have disagreements with their pastors all the time. This is no different. Hope everyone in this situation can move forward.
ReplyDelete1. Yes, Waldo is the urban core. Urban core isn't s synonym for "black neighborhood in the real world. It means a place that's in the core of the city. Here that basically means downtown to waldo, state line to the blue river valley.
ReplyDelete2. What's antisemitic about disagreeing with the decision to tear down a perfectly functional building and replace it with unnecessary and underused greenspace on a city BLVD?
3. Good to hear that some congregates and the rabbi were against it. Bummer they didn't get it stopped before yet another urban asset was removed from our urban fabric and replaced with wasted space.
Suburban development can stay in the suburbs.
Like it or not, this is a city.
Well, I suppose the truth came out.
ReplyDeleteIt's a city, and I like it even though I'm still not convinced Waldo in in the "urban core." Are you also critical of St. Elizabeth's tearing down a house for a rain garden on Main?

19 hours ago – Total non-hack Hans von Spakovsky is determined to prove that voter fraud is a National Scourge, because of Rizzo's uncle.
Ominously, anon 217, the whole truth is not out nor the full story yet told. Things are going to get worse for the Rabbi and the Community. Sadly so.
ReplyDeleteGoodbye Jews!
ReplyDeleteIdiot. You watch too many movies.
ReplyDeleteThat's a picture of John Joseph Rizzo s uncle getting caught rigging an election for his nephew.
