TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! CITIZEN INITIATIVE PETITION LAUNCHED TO SAVE KCI AND STOP SILLY CITY COUNCIL ONE-TERMINAL PLAN!!!
The latest and greatest Kansas City opposition effort aimed at stopping the silly airport plan . . . Check it:
I'm a member of a local group called "Friends of KCI". We turned in a City petition today stating our intent to collect enough signatures to get a voter referendum on the council's decision to proceed with a 1-terminal airport plan. We now have to collect 7,143 valid signatures of registered KCMO voters in 30 days in order to put the question on the next ballot. We'd appreciate it if you would consider helping us publicize the effort. We should have a list of places we will be collecting signatures over the next few weeks by Wednesday. We have reached out to the "Save KCI" folks as well and hope every local citizen group who cares about keeping the most convenient airport in the nation will participate.
I bet they get the numbers to qualify.

ReplyDeletePeople are tired of the City Council squandering money on studies - probably done by their friends. We need good paying NEW jobs. They keep promising the toy train and airport will bring them. Probably not any new ones only more money for their buddies who already have them and more low paying shit jobs. The taxpayers aren't going to get jobs just more taxes. They aren't fooling anyone.

ReplyDeleteWhy can't the city put money into the things the city really needs - like taking care of 20 years worth of deferred maintenance. Fixing water and sewer lines and resurfacing roads in this city are needed more than an airport. The airport does not bring people here to live, but the quality of those things and a solid infrastructure do.

ReplyDeleteI will sign it. The city, county, and state waste too much already. I'm sure someone can find a better way to spend 1.6 Billion dollars. Our airport is fine. We don't need or want a new one. LEAVE IT ALONE!! QUIT WASTING MY TAX DOLLARS!!!
ReplyDeleteThe City Council doesn't care what the people want or need. I had one dealing with the City Council (Cindy Circo) and she cared more about cronyism in city hall than to do what she knew was absolutely right. I'm going to bet that sly's name ends up on the new terminal if she's still there when they "push" this through. People should not vote an incumbent back into office here in KC while theres still some of KC left to run
