Kansas City Dead Tree Media suffered another major embarrassment this week thanks to a column from Jeneé Osterheldt i.e. Hoopz.

Star Public Editor Derek Donovan was forced on Friday (4/19) to write a correction (Page A2) to Osterheldt’s story noting that “while musician Kerwin Young was a member of the group Public Enemy’s Bomb Squad production team, only the four core members of the group were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Young attended the ceremony with them.”

On the downside . . . The complaints persist . . .
- The Hoopz hire has always been a sore spot for so many Kansas City newsies.
- It's kinda sad that she's never stepped up her game given that she has one of the best jobs in KC Journalism.
- And like it or not, this kind of mistake just makes people angry when they think of all the veteran Dead Tree Media journalists gone while Hoopz is still picking up a check.
Still, nobody said that journalism is fair, which makes sense since a lot of the time it's not accurate either.

That night was the famous Plaza flash mob and Mayor James getting shot at. She was very quiet after that. Notice how Hoops does not address how her "people" act? But she has to live in lilly white North KC.

Last week the Star cut several inches off of the actual paper, it ain't quite as wide. They could have used the downsizing as an excuse to show Miss O the door.
