THE STATE OF KANSAS CITY 2013?!?!
The message of Mayor Sly James in his State Of The City Address for 2013 was lost today.
I read the speech. It wasn't a big loss.
But here's the more important question for Kansas City right now:
WHAT IS THE STATE OF KANSAS CITY IN 2013 GIVEN THAT A POLITICALLY ACTIVE RESIDENT FELT THE NEED TO JUMP ON STAGE AND FACE ARREST IN ORDER TO HAVE HIS VOICE HEARD?!?!?
The Toy Train was railroaded through with little consent from the public.
Violence, crime and our homicide rate remain a horrific problem.
Spending @ 12th and Oak is out of control and now we're talking about a mega-taxpayer subsidized hotel.
TKC does not agree with the form the protest took . . . No matter his politics or approach to local governance, Mayor Sly deserves respect and we're actually quite impressed with his composure in the aftermath of today's ruckus.

NOW . . .
TODAY'S OUTBURST AT THE MAYOR'S STATE OF THE CITY AND A SEEMING ENDORSEMENT OF THE POLITICAL TACTIC FROM MANY IN THE CROWD REVEALS VERY DEEP SEATED FRUSTRATION WITH CITY HALL ON KANSAS CITY'S EAST SIDE!!!
Sadly, the message of Mayor Sly James was lost today . . . What's more important is what residents will decide about the State of Kansas City 2013.
