THE STATE OF KANSAS CITY 2013?!?!
The message of Mayor Sly James in his State Of The City Address for 2013 was lost today.
I read the speech. It wasn't a big loss.
But here's the more important question for Kansas City right now:
WHAT IS THE STATE OF KANSAS CITY IN 2013 GIVEN THAT A POLITICALLY ACTIVE RESIDENT FELT THE NEED TO JUMP ON STAGE AND FACE ARREST IN ORDER TO HAVE HIS VOICE HEARD?!?!?
The Toy Train was railroaded through with little consent from the public.
Violence, crime and our homicide rate remain a horrific problem.
Spending @ 12th and Oak is out of control and now we're talking about a mega-taxpayer subsidized hotel.
TKC does not agree with the form the protest took . . . No matter his politics or approach to local governance, Mayor Sly deserves respect and we're actually quite impressed with his composure in the aftermath of today's ruckus.

The East Side wants what it has always wanted.
Government money, EBT/SNAP Cards, welfare, Set Asides, Protected Class Status, Affirmative Action etc etc etc.
The 5 BILLION Dollars spent on the KCSD is exactly the same thing that has happened to the Trillions of dollars spent on "Evening the Playing Field" social engineering legislation that has been pissed away for a bullshit liberal feel good dream that has turned 3 generations of African Americans into wards of the state from fuckin cradle to grave.

Thy have received hundreds of millions for the Green Impact Zone, Ivanhoe, public housing, transit, 18th and Vine, HEDFC, and all kinds of other crap. Billions for their schools. What have thy done with it? Squandered it, and concurrently, made the quality of life there shit.

I love how some of the news outlets said this afternoon that Genaro Ruiz helped tackle the man....ummm NO. If you watched the video it was the KCPD officers assigned to the mayor who did and Ruiz just kinda walked up and put the flag back up afterwards.
