Kansas City Chiefs Turnaround?!?!

Kansas City moves from Winter to Spring with new hope and we also begin pointless speculation that mistakenly expects local football improvement.

Just one example out of many . . .

AP in The New York Times: "In Kansas City, New Staff Makes Over The Chiefs at Warp Speed"

Money quote . . .

"The new general manager, John Dorsey, and new coach, Andy Reid, have put their fingerprints on a franchise that has had one winning season in the last six, has not won a playoff game since 1993 and has not been to the Super Bowl since winning it under Hank Stram in January 1970.

They have also changed the culture of a franchise in a rut."

Unfortunately, longtime Kansas City Chiefs fans have heard all of this before and it's worth considering that last season was also supposed to be the starting point for monumental turnaround efforts.

Wouldn't it be incredible if this were the year both the Chiefs AND the Royals were at least in contention as they get to the end of their respective seasons?

With the Royals undefeated in preseason, it seems possible and not just hopefully, foolishly so.

We'll see, of course.
