COMING SOON!!!!! FEAR THE KANSAS CITY ST. PADDY'S DUI CRACKDOWN!!!

Call it a Kansas City tradition . . . St. Paddy's is the perfect time to pick a great many drunk drivers out of the crowd.

Fox4 provides a warning and a glimpse at last year's totals . . .

Police will be on the lookout for drunk drivers beginning Thursday through Sunday. They’ll be setting up extra checkpoints throughout the weekend. Last year on St. Patrick’s day, a checkpoint at 39th and Southwest Trafficway resulted in 31 arrests for DUIs between the hours of 10 p.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. Sunday.

And so, here's a chance for Kansas City to live up or down to stereotypes . . . And lament the toy train that might have prevented a few legal hassles along a small stretch of road.

  1. Get a room at the Quarterage Hotel. It's easy. And save a couple thousand dollars. Split it between 3 friends and the room doesn't cost shit.

  3. Overs/unders on shootings associated with St. Paddy's parade and celebration is 2 1/2. Ironically, it's the same as the overs/unders on number of St. Paddy's shooters who reside on the East side.

  4. They should be able to bust and fine enough drunks to put a major dent in KC's deficit.

  6. The Max Bus is $1.50 and runs every 15 minutes. That's the good thing. It's packed with drunks. That's the bad thing. But at least they're not driving.

  7. Off duty police are being warned to avoid the area even thought doing so will significantly cut down on the number of DUIs swept under the carpet.
