CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER TALKS TRANSIT INVESTMENT IN HIS LATEST NEWSLETTER!!!

Kansas City's Congressman Cleaver is putting Missouri transit at the top of his list for discussion this evening.

The EC From D.C. Newsletter is out tonight . . .

Of particular interest is this passage on transit :

Congressman Cleaver notes: "Every dollar invested in Missouri transportation generates four dollars of new economic activity. And the Federal Highway Administration estimates for every billion dollars spent on transportation, 34,000 direct and indirect jobs are generated. That is why I take every opportunity to listen to my constituents, talk with other members of Congress, attend meetings, and fight for the improvement of roads, bridges and waterways in my district. Bridge after bridge after bridge is in danger. Highways are crumbling. And we cannot sit by and play partisan politics and argue while our infrastructure continues to deteriorate."

Thankfully, there's no support toy train silliness but notice that the e-mail blast makes many references to cooperation which we're not hearing much from Republicans nowadays.

  1. Former IL Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. was charged Friday by federal prosecutors with misusing $750,000 in campaign funds.....and meanwhile MO Congressman Cleaver continues to not take responsibility for the now $1.6 Million SBA loan (principal, penalties, etc.)which he defaulted on, leaving taxpayers on the hook to clean up his mess!

Does owning a carwash fall under the description of Missouri transportation? Is that why you expect the taxpayers to pay your bills?

  7. So it shouldn't be too hard to quantify the tangible gains in econic sctivoty and jobs created from all that dough dumped into transportation improvements in the GIZ. Show us, Mr. Cleaver.

  8. Fuck you Cleaver! Pay your god-damned bills, NIGGER.

  9. If one dollar spent on transportation majically generates four dollars in return we should spend every tax dollar on transportation and we will all be rich. Why hasn't some Nobel winner in economics figured this out? How could they miss this when a KCMO preacher figures it out?

  15. WORKING FOR YOU IN WASHINGTON. LOL

  16. 3:20, it takes a special kind of retarded to not grasp that Deadbeat Cleaver borrowed more than 4 times what his POS car wash is worth from BOA and then made the conscious decision to not pay his debt! Now Deadbeat Cleaver is $1.6 million in debt and getting sued on the SBA-insured loan.

So 1:07, it has nothing to do with Deadbeat Cleaver being black. It has to do with him being a liar, a cheat and a deadbeat, who will probably stick the taxpayers with his debt when he defaults on the SBA loan.

  17. All of which, even if it were true, which it isn't, has exactly 0 bearing on his career and performance as a legislator.

But keep voting for based on irrelevant side issues, like who's got the cuter dog, or who has the more salacious fake "scandal".

    It's working so well...

Your pathetic excuses for a politician who preaches "civility & accountability" while practicing "the buck stops elsewhere & I'm not responsible for my actions" is EXACTLY why a majority of Americans feel that the political system is broken and corrupt.
If you wish to give your money and support to an unethical person, then have at it, but don't expect the rest of us to become apologists like yourself.
