KCPD Comes To Terms With City Hall

Hopefully a bit of good news for KCPD's rank & file:

The Kansas City Council approved a lawsuit settlement Thursday that paves the way for a consolidated health plan serving both city employees and police.

Remember that THE AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY broke this story last year and now it's nice to see the thing put to rest . . . With hopefully better benefits and pay for Kansas City cops on local streets.

  1. kcpd will be sorry it did that. kcpd has a much better policy then the city emplooyees.

  2. And why should the PD get special treatment. You all work for the city and should all have the same coverage.

  3. because as much as you hate to believe it the police are healthier than most city employees and don't abuse the system to the extent that other city employees do.

  4. I should have expected as much from the "We Never Do Wrong Department"

  5. Because the police put their lives on the line for your sorry ass & the fat broads in the water dept offices don't.

  6. If the police are so much healthier, why are there so many sitting behind desks instead of out on patrol?

  7. Because you are a dipshit!

  8. Unless you work for the water department, don't pretend to know anything about their job. I don't. I do know that dealing with liquified shit in confined spaces full of poison gas isn't a joy ride. Nor is the back breaking labor they do. Everyone on the front lines of the city sacrifices something for the people who live here.

Don't sit, with your baby soft hands, and act like you know what it's like to do a physical job until you've walked in their shoes.

There's thousands of hardworking people in city government that don't get the headlines for toiling everyday.

  9. The police in this town sure are a pissy bunch.

Sure can see they don't like to be held accountable but does appear they have an excuse for everything.

  10. how is it "pissy" do dislike being changed to a new insurance plan that raises your rates, because you're lumped in with a group of people, who in general, are a bigger actuarial risk for the insurance companies?

Anyone in similar circumstances would likely feel the same way.

and it's also never been proven to me that the move saves the city any money with the change.

  11. Life is rough all over just be thankful you are able to have the city help you on any coverage. Many people out there pay all the costs themselves each month for insurance. So suck it up and stop acting like your prima donnas over all the rest of the city employees.

  12. its not kcpd fault that they got a good contract with health insurance thats because they didnt have to pay a kick back to get such good policies

  13. Is that so 7:59?

Well then you need to get the proof of that right to Tony here so it can be made public.

But I am guessing you are just shooting your mouth off about something you have no proof of.

  14. Who needs health insurance when we have Obamacare

  15. Thanks FOP...sold the rank & file down the river. Sgts getting a pretty good raise but then who makes up the e-board...yep, sgts. Officers not such a good deal. One pay step. Should've been 3 steps. How about getting something more for the troops for this sell out. No more residency? Maybe? Corruption everywhere you look

    ReplyDelete
  16. Another uneducated fucking pussy. It is three dumbass!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Residency??? The FOP won't want that then the dreams of becoming more of a union will go away because the cops will move out of the city.

The city should be for it because more people would have to pay the e tax when the cops move out of the city.

  18. yes, bring on the residency issue KCPOA like you all have been promising to do for over the last 10 fucking years. Lies, lies, and more lies. The only reason a lot of us even belong to the KCPOA is for the legal coverage. We know that u don't have our best interest at heart. Ain't that right Lemon-head?

P.S. thanks for that big raise for all the topped out cops/detectives!

  19. oh and another thing! Where can I find the gal in the cop uniform. I need a new partner! Who is she by the way?
