KANSAS CITY "LOCAL PIG" CLIP

Because Kansas City often starts the morning with a bit of hog . . .

Details from vimeo: "A look into Kansas City's favorite butcher shop: The Local Pig is Kansas City's only full-line butcher shop dedicated to locally sourced products and humanely raised meats. They are an old-world style artisanal charcuterie and butcher shop. You should know where your food comes from, and at Local Pig, they can tell you. Local Pig selects only hormone, steroid and antibiotic free meats. Most of the animals come from right around here.

Local Pig turns happy, local meats into a wide selection of steaks, seasoned roasts, chops, sausages, burgers and a variety of charcuterie like bacon, pate and rillettes."

And while that still doesn't mean they aren't cutting up filthy animals . . . I guess it's a bit more reassuring than other local piggy products.

Take a look for yourself:

  3. It's actually a good place, in a really terrible part of town. Suggest that they relocate.

  4. On the contrary. It's right next to Knuckleheads and the old Heims Brewery. Not a bad location at all and, having gone there today for a burger and freshly made chips, I can vouch that this place is AWESOME! I can't wait until breakfast tomorrow when we try the black pepper bacon that we bought. Fresh, local, and great service.
