Australia has disarmed it’s citizens, and a year later the homicide rate in the largest province is up 300%. The burglaries of seniors is “dramatically” up.
I guess the criminals did not turn their weapons in. Only the innocent law abiding citizens turned in weapons.
In US cities with the highest crime rates, taking guns away from the citizens has not lowered the homicide rate. All it has done is to make it easier for criminals to operate.
The 2nd amendment is not about duck hunting, or deer hunting. It is about having the ability and the right to defend oneself and your family. It doesn’t matter if that threat is a burglar, or the Federal Government. A disarmed population is fair game for any president who may be aspiring to become a dictator. Having its citizens armed was the plain and simple intent of the founding fathers of our country.

I was next to a Dallas resident on an airplane yesterday. He pointed out that the year prior to their concealed carry law being passed, a certain stretch of interstate in Dallas had a carjacking on every exit ramp at least once per week. After the law passed, a 'jacket was killed in the act. Immediately car jacking dropped to almost zero along that stretch of road.
ReplyDeletePeople, for the first time in decades, are no longer scared to drive in Dallas. Mass murderers suck. So do street criminals. Who does more damage to society? Perhaps it's time to deal with the nut jobs that want to go down in flames. I think it is. But the way to deal with them is not to disarm the victims of street crime.

It would be no different if the weapon of choice were a bomb, chemical warfare, etc. If people are hell-bent on killing; they will kill. Supporting mental health initiatives is good and tightening the standards for selling guns is also necessary. Taking them away... ? not so sure.

Since we now rely on China for ass wipe and bullets, among other things, there are very limited supplies of materials to produce. When war is on prices go up - just like fuel when the oil fields are on fire. This ain't rocket science.
