TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! MISSOURI BILL COULD SPEED UP TAKEOVER OF KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!!
Check an important bit of legislation from Missouri State Senator David Pearce which has heretofore gone unmentioned . . .
Check it . . .
KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS RECENTLY SENT A LINK TO A MISSOURI BILL RECENTLY FILED THAT COULD SPEED UP A TAKEOVER OF KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!!
Check it:
"SB 7 – This act removes the two-year waiting period that exists between the classification of a school district as unaccredited and the lapse of the district's corporate organization. Instead, when the State Board of Education classifies a district as unaccredited, it must review the governance of the district to establish the conditions under which the existing school board will continue to govern or determine the date on which the district will lapse and determine an alternative governing structure for the district."
Remember back to last session and realize that it was mostly politics and dumb luck that prevented a takeover of the KCPS.
And now we wonder . . .
Given that there hasn't been much progress toward accreditation . . . Will the KCPS stay lucky or will GOP legislators and advocates for Kansas City education reform press a bit harder to end a cycle of fail that has taken place over more than a generation.
Whatever the case . . . This session of the Missouri General Assembly with a brand new GOP veto-proof majority will be interesting and just might finally elicit a bit of change for KC Proper.
DEVELOPING . . .
Here we go again.
ReplyDeleteHope Sly doesn't try to get involved again this time.
Someone pull the wool OFF of your eyes this morning Tony?

ReplyDeleteTony is so full of shit and has no idea what he's talking about. Even if this bill passes it won't make a bit of difference.
ReplyDeleteThe state can already take over the district in 2014. If you read the bill (can Tony even read?) you'll see they can't just immediately take over the district. They have to hold community meetings, involve stakeholders, etc.
So the school year will already be underway before the process is complete, and the state isn't likely to dissolve the district's leadership during the school year (and even if they do, it won't have much impact).
Maybe some day Tony will actually figure out what's going on before he opens his mouth. Doubtful, but who knows?
The GOP don't give a crap about KCMO schools that pump out more idiot democrap voters. Just stay in you sespool districts with your corrupt Reverand Congressmen and stay out our counties and towns.
ReplyDeleteThank you,
GOP Voter

ReplyDeleteHow the web ever become the literary equivalent of dunkin donuts?
ReplyDeleteKind of depressing that the state can't just take over the entire local county and city government. THAT would be the real Dream Act.
ReplyDeleteThe sooner the better. With nitwits like Jackson, Rea and West the District needs a takeover and fast. They've had their chance! Not one more child should graduate from this district without knowing how to read, basic math skills and the ability to write in a manner which can be translated by others. Where can I send my letter of support?
ReplyDeleteBest thing that could happen.
ReplyDelete@8:48 sounds a little nervous to me.
ReplyDeleteDese needs to take over and this legislation is the first step in making that happen. Has Airick done anything but increase his own profile? Didnamt think so. The experiment is over and sacraficing moore children to this cause is not an option. It's time to take over the district and then split it apart.
No more political agendas on the backs and at the demise of children. If this board wants to puff up their political resume, then they should jump in with both feet. No use the kids as a means to another end.
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify, hasn't SB 7 been around since the beginning of the year? State still hasn't intervened almost a year later.
ReplyDeleteAirick will be our next councilman, he has done a tremendous job in spite of so much hatred.
ReplyDeleteRe filed and ready to kick the grifters out of office. Amen.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, you have no idea what you are talking about. The district has made significant progress toward reaccreditation and the most recent state RSIP meeting expressed that provisional accreditation would likely be achieved for the next school year. This legislation is nothing more than Kiki Curls pound of flesh for the district taking ACE out of the hands of incompetent people.
ReplyDeleteHere's a plan that will work:
ReplyDeleteClose the Schools and expand the Zoo!
Looks like the soonest this would happen would be June 2013. There is not really any story here. Thats the same date thats been tossed around all this year as far as SB7 is concerned. As far as the experience of the school board, does anyone have any experience in education? Any formal schooling in this area of study?
ReplyDeleteI meant June 2014.
ReplyDelete"There is not really any story here."
ReplyDeleteSure there isn't Dr. Greene?
How's that commute? We hear you don't make it to KC most days.
So what is different from this now and when it was originally reported earlier this year? Its not clear. Someone break it down.
ReplyDeleteHold a couple of community meetings and then the state can takeover. Read the bill. It says Effective Date - Emergency Clause.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if Airwick West would spend less time planning orgies, trying to breed white women and using women to supplement his income he could do some real work at KCPS. By the way, I hear his house is filthy.. How can this man be a mentor to our "scholars" when he can't even take care of himself? Someone needs to hotline his ass.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you at chicken shit "Paper Tiger" facebook creeper????
ReplyDeleteMost of the comments on this seem to be made by graduates of KCMOSD.
ReplyDeleteTony needs to get a better class of TROLLS.
@ 1:43 Who cares? Amongst these comments I see a-holes, generally uninformed people and women upset that AW wouldn't give them the time of day. Who cares if they are graduates of the schools that this post is about. If Tony really cared we wouldnt be able to do this anonymously.
ReplyDeleteIf the state would just lower the standards like KC did everything would be just fine. We could have those little bastard out on the street shooting each other by grade 8 instead of grade 10 and that would eliminate about half the drop outs the taxpayers are supporting.
