NEWSMAN JOHN LANDSBERG MYTHBUSTS INTERNET RUMOR WITH FACTS ABOUT KANSAS CITY STAR LAYOFFS!!!

We've long noted that Kansas City newsman John Landsberg is the GOLD STANDARD when it comes to reporting about Kansas City media.

To wit . . .

JOHN LANDSBERG DESERVES CREDIT FOR BRINGING THE FACTS ABOUT KANSAS CITY STAR LAYOFFS INSTEAD OF JUST GOING WITH RUMORS FROM DISGRUNTLED AND FIRED EMPLOYEES!!!

The fabricated story about a competition between employees over who would be fired was a nice bit of Internet gossip . . . But it was nothing but fantasy.

Check Landsberg's link for the facts with supporting evidence:

Kansas City Star President and Publisher Mi-Ai Parrish has issued a strongly worded memo to employees today denying that any employees at the McClatchy-owned paper were forced to decide among themselves whether they would be laid off or not.

In the end the Kansas City Dead Tree Death Match Meme didn't even amount to good gossip but really represented nothing more than justifiably harsh feeling from people who are now on the Internet and not in print and don't know how to deal with this fact of life.

But instead of gloating on the negative, we want to give credit where it's dude.

Landsberg has facts to back up his work.

Others are just spreading gossip on the Internet . . . Something I respect but only when it's accompanied by boobie photos.

And so . . . When we want to know the score about Kansas City mainstream media . . . We check out the work of John Landsberg who is Kansas City's mainstream media referee.

  1. Wake up, tony. He's not a NEWSMAN. He's a PR flack. He has his 'news' blog is ONLY to give him visibility for more PR clients.... to make potential clients think he's got media moxie.

He knows a lot about PR, can do his job for his clients well, I'm sure ... he has some news moxie which isn't exactly a hard task, but he's not at ALL a journalist.

Don't pass him off as one, even though he sometimes tries to pass himself off as one too. It's not his line of work. Again, he's a PR flack seeking clients.

Hearne @ KCC is one who is runnig fuck nuts with the fabricated story about a competition between employees who would be fired.

But then even the KCPD could solve the fact that Hearne hates the Star.

  3. Embarrased at the star ans all of their hateful employees right now.

  4. lol at your boob line.

  5. Herne ”Hanging from the rafters” Christopher did it again...

  6. did the employees kill themselves? Are they hanging from the rafters?
    What a fucking joke.
Anybody who believed this shit doesn't belong in journalism.

The whole things is too good to be true.

Tony, maybe you can get together with the reporters who were fired from The Star and start your own paper. You could bring back the KC Times. Lol.

Tony has his own gig why should he share his basement with anyone. He's saving it for Jordon anyway

  9. At least Landsberg began his career as a journalist and tries to present the facts. Hearne began his career as a trust fund brat and is ending it that way.
If you want to write for Hearne's blog just take out an ad.

  10. If you want to write for Hearne be a bigger con man or crook than Glazer is. By the way he has a wee, wee wee.

  11. I don't understand... so he reports something completely incorrect and runs with it for days, then when he finally publishes the real story all the sudden he's some sort of dynamo.

The fact that Tony, who prints completely false stories about 95 percent of the time, likes this guy should be no surprise.

  13. I've never really understood why Tony likes this John guy so much, other than heaping praise on him appears to keep any criticism on TKC at bay on his site. But I look at his site and it's nothing new... he apparently reads the star and watches local TV. Not a lot of journalism there.

And then he gets all worked up any time anyone doesn't kiss the ass of the Catholic church. Great media refereeing there, John.

  14. John's combover is more believable than any media "refereeing" he purports to do.

  15. So I guess if Mi-Ai Parrish wrote a memo that says it didn't happen, that's all the proof Landsberg needs to say definitively that it didn't happen.

After all, career PR guys know that top executives never spin anything in their own self-interest. And all problems can be solved by a well-written "memo."

Which, of course, isn't to say that Hearne Christopher isn't full of shit and pretty much always goes off half-cocked without out producing the slightest scrap of solid evidence.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey Tony? You bother reading the combox in which Landsberg himself writes: "Despite the attempted spin, it still boils down to two employees deciding who of them stays and who goes."?

In other words, rather than "mythbusting" a "fabricated story", Landsberg seems to believe it quite strongly.

  17. I think TKC is letting his hate for Hearne get in the way of facts. In the comment section of Bottom Line Landsberg says this
"It is pretty obvious to those following this story that the Publisher’s memo is an attempt to take lemons and make lemonade."
It clearly is an affirmation of what was reported on KCC. So there is no myth busting as TKC claims. Sour grapes Tony.

  18. I think Star fanboys and fired employees are too bitter to understand anything but their own rage right now @ 11:26

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well, yeah, 3:05, except that in his head, Tony has Landsberg reaching the opposite conclusion that Landsberg reached in reality.

Now either Tony is stupid, or he is deliberately hoping that nobody clicks the link and reads what Landsberg actually said.
