Among Kansas City's political elite Mayor Sly is touted as a bit of a miracle worker and most are impressed by the power of his charisma along with the bump he brings in positive perception to any issue.

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS URGE US TO REMEMBER THAT MAYOR SLY IS ON SCHEDULE TO RAISE TAXES ONCE AGAIN IN KANSAS CITY DURING THE 2013 ELECTION CYCLE AND MAYBE AS SOON AS APRIL!!!
There will be talk of more infrastructure repair, more services but there is evidence of neither according to most locals. In fact, in the aftermath of the Mayor's recent infrastructure FOREVER TAX this town's streets are in worse shape than ever.
TKC HYPERLOCAL COVERAGE . . . THE STEEL PLATE AT 46TH AND WARD PARKWAY HAS KILLED THE TIRES OF MORE THAN A DOZEN DRIVERS IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS AND DENTED THE FRAME OF THE LUXURY VEHICLE OF ONE PROMINENT KANSAS CITY POLITICAL DENIZEN!!!
Nevertheless . . .
Mayor Sly stood behind the Kansas City FOREVER Zoo tax with a smile and lot of civic support.
Mayor Sly then earned an impressive win during the primary election with another FOREVER tax increase that he touted as an "investment" in the city.
Again, during a recession these feats are regarded as remarkable by lesser politicos.
And now . . .
MAYOR SLY'S TEAM IS PREPARING TO PUSH ANOTHER TAX INCREASE THAT WILL BRING A MAJOR LEAGUE CITY SALES TAX RATE OF OVER 10% TO THIS STRUGGLING COWTOWN!!!
KC insiders have no doubt that Mayor Sly will push this one through given that there is no organized tax opposition in Kansas City.
And behind the scenes, TKC still bickers with Mayor Sly's supporters about this tax and spend strategy but there's simply no arguing that Kansas City's most beloved Mayor has made local life much more expensive.
