Jordan Carver inspires this post-election list of Kansas City's strongest players and trends . . . Take a peek:
POLITICOS
1. Shawnee Mayor Jeff Meyers and calling foul on himself for taking up a parking sport reserved for the physically challenged was a strong move to start the holiday season of empty gestures.
2. Mayor Sly - Get ready for more than month of Kansas City's top elected official playing Santa.
3. MO Secretary Of State Elect Jason Kander - He seems to be focused on a few priorities during his Kansas City victory march this week - And that's a powerful sign of his commitment.
4. MO State Senator Jolie Justus - He's a Missouri State Senator and leading lady of a Super-minority that isn't really important given that the GOP is veto proof. Still, she's soon to be anointed our 4th District Council Lady after a few years of smiling at local meetings.
5. Pastor Brooks - In the archives his supporters are pouting but fail to realize that this 5th District Council dude hasn't been very productive during his tenure and TKC TIPSTERS KNOW as much AND WE HAVE THE FACTS TO BACK IT UP . . . TOO BAD THIS MAN OF GOD HASN'T SHOWN BETTER JUDGEMENT IN HIS POLITICS!!!
NEWSIES
Ryan Kath - Earned another strong week with his reporting according to Bottom Line Communications.
Jiao Jiao Shen - One of our new morning newscast faves.
KCUR Local News - Notice we've been linking them more? Really great local reporting without the authoritative corporate pose that Star newsies like to show everybody.
Dos Mundos - Check out this former TKC employer for a lot of great photos and info regarding this town's Latino Community.
Darla Jaye - The only Conservative in Kansas City still standing tall following the election.
KANSAS CITY SCHEMES
1. The KC Strip - Still a horrible failure and a great example of why "mass transit" focused on development or biz creation is a bad idea.
2. The Downtown Toy Train - See the above and then just add $100 million to the cost.
3. Gentrification - A great deal of crime has put a stop to so many interlopers hoping to flip houses no matter the damage to surrounding communities.
4. The Downtown Convention Hotel - Mayor Sly keeps dropping hints about a project that Kansas City taxpayers can't afford.
5. Cowtown Tech - There's a lot of tech hype in this town as of late. Some of it is useful but most of it is nothing more than a digital ponzi scheme. Decide for yourself.
As always, this list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people.
get a life TKC.
ReplyDeleteAgree. U need better friends.
ReplyDeleteHi, Tony! *wink*
ReplyDeleteWhat place did the homicide rate take on the weekly power ranking? Sounds like another one occurred tonight. Surprised you didn't already have a link posted preceded by a picture of .223 rounds.
ReplyDeleteThis town is going to Hell and all of these "powerful" people aren't doing anything to help anyone but themselves.
ReplyDeleteHey easy on Tony he is suffering as his favorite snack cakes are no longer. And then to top it off Jordon Carver said no again for the 500th time to going out on a date with him.
ReplyDeleteNice one SDave - Tkc should know that once again it's the Unions that worked against all of us.
ReplyDeleteNo man wasn't the unions! making that comment was old years ago
ReplyDeleteIt was all done in by greedy people and it's greedy people who are going to destroy life as we once knew it.
ReplyDeleteWhy are we in this mess, now facing the prospect of economic armageddon? It's because the prevailing characteristic has been greed, and it doesn't matter whether it's individuals living beyond their means or governments living beyond their means or people seeking to get rich quick.
ReplyDeleteGood call on Michael Brooks. He's in way over his head and no good at being a power player...not nearly savvy or sophisticated enough. He'll drain money from the city and the fifth district to pay off buddies like Ron Hunt, Bishop Tindall and Alvin Brooks. He's no good for KCMO or the fifth district.
ReplyDeleteWow, four comments by SuperAsshole.
ReplyDeleteThe fiscal cliff will be a good thing. It will not be Financial Armageddon. The cuts to the military budget will be worth it. Taxes will go up, but now, they are at there lowest level in fifty years.
Government cheese didn't destroy the economy. It was unfunded wars, TARP & unwarranted tax cuts that did that.
Byron=small penis
ReplyDeleteOf course, I have a small penis. I'm a white man, dumbass. What's your point?
ReplyDeleteSpit that penis out Byron it's not yours
DeleteByron=smaller than average white man penis
ReplyDeleteHi Bryionia!!!! I see you changed your photo! Put your other one back up, cuz I miss beating off to the picture of you and your momma!
ReplyDeleteI'm not the reason Kansas City is fucked up, you are. If liberals are so stupid, then how come we keep winning?
ReplyDeleteObama bought votes with entitlements 129 your ass bitch !
DeleteByrons mom says hey Byron, has the mailman cum yet ? Byron says no, but his eyes are gittin glassy !
ReplyDeleteWhy did Chris Moreno leave the exciting world of Arena Football?
ReplyDeleteIs there a reason you called Jolie a "he" in the paragraph about her fictitious power? Freudian slip?
ReplyDelete7:39 for a top position in a multi-million dollar company.
ReplyDelete2:19, the only "top position" Chris Moreno could get is in a sex act with either just himself or with a partner whom he paid to let Chris be on top.
ReplyDelete"I'm not the reason Kansas City is fucked up, you are. If liberals are so stupid, then how come we keep winning?"
ReplyDeleteBecause there are more dumb ass people then smart people. Duh. More peoples who likes the handouts.
Hey, remember when Bill Skaggs was gonna run against Ryan Silvey?
ReplyDeleteI had lunch Friday with Moreno who is making more now than ever. He stays winning! Losers.
