Local control will soon be the issue of the day in Kansas City . . .
STL police now will get their local control and KC is the last place in the country where we don't control our police department directly . . . Some say that's for the best.
Proposition A, for city control of St. Louis police, wins
This campaign in KC should be interesting because there is no unanimity on it.
DEVELOPING . . .
Good for St Louis !!!
ReplyDeleteNow we need Local Control in Kansas City.
The MURDER rate has been way too high in Kansas City and it has been going on for years.
Time to put the Police Department under Local Control.
If you think local control will help the murder rate youre beyond delusional.
DeleteAfter tonight Kansas City will be the only Police Department in the nation that does not report to the local citizens and government. It's time for KCPD to be held accountable to the local citizens and taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteyea KCPD. ST LOU pussies.
ReplyDeleteIf you think for a second local control will change the murder rate, or accountability of the dept commanders, you must be out of your mind. I dont care either way, but it will not impact either of these. It will allow the kcpd to finally unionize, thus making them stronger and able to have bite when the city messes with the (see kcfd and their 17% raises). Be careful what you wish for.
ReplyDeleteAnything would be better than what we have now.
ReplyDeleteIf City Hall can't run the city, why would be want them to manage the police dept? What we need is the State to take over control of City Hall.
ReplyDeleteit will be a sorry day for kc if the city gets control of the pd. they already are showing what they will do just look at how the mayors son has been treated. do you think if that was one of our citizens without any pull would get off like kyle did. thats what this city will be like
ReplyDeleteTime to bust some niggerheads open and get them in line.
ReplyDeleteTime to outsource! Eliminate the flaky assed police lobbyist paid for by the tax payers, establish some real accountability, get some new blood and break up the pattern and wipe out this brotherhood that ends up appointing political dumb asses as chief.
ReplyDeleteOnly positive is that racist Alvin Brooks loses his Board of Police Commissioner job
ReplyDelete11/7/12 2:10 AM Ditto - great comment! Ask public what Local Control means and what underlying factors are included in the Bill and most won't have a clue. Yes, be careful of what you promote, voters.
ReplyDeleteDo you think the kcpd is not already preparing for local control? Trust me, they are. The thing is once that happens they will be the biggest most powerful union in the city. They are bigger than the kcfd and all the city workers unions. If you think the kcfd has power wait until the kcpd reports to the city council. Its quid pro quo like youve never seen before.
ReplyDeleteThe "kcpd" and the "union" (fop) are not the same thing. The union represents sgts and lower and soon itll represent civilians. The command staff is already in the process of organizing their own union so they arent left out in the cold. The citizens of kc have no idea exactly what will happen but im willing to bet it wont be good. Corruption at new heights.
