CELEBRATE THE VERY WORST YEAR IN KANSAS CITY PRO-SPORTS HISTORY!!!

Without question this year Kansas City proved, once and for all, that we're not a major league sports town.

The year has been dominated by fanboy complaints and sports newsies attempting to outdo one another in silly rants fueled by (self)righteous indignation.

But the numbers speak for themselves.

To wit . . .

TAKE A LOOK AT THE TOP 5 REASONS 2012 IS THE WORST YEAR IN KANSAS CITY PRO-SPORTS HISTORY!!!

1. Matt Stewart tries to make Kansas City fanboys feel better with this column that clings to pipe dreams: Why Futbol is Better Than Football in KC . . . It's an interesting notion but a first round playoff exit means that the team in question didn't really belong in the playoffs to begin with . . . Sorry, Sporting KC fans - The Eurotrash style cheering is fun but basically Kansas City Soccer sucks this year too and most of this town still isn't sure if it's a real sport for anybody outside of Jr. High.

2. The Chiefs defend local VIP rooms and get bottle service better than they play. Seriously, The Kansas City Chiefs are the worst team in the NFL right now and their frustrated fans are now attempting to entertain themselves while trying to make a buck selling protest t-shirts. The Pittsburgh defeat is going to be humiliating.

3. The Royals are cheaper and more unreliable than all of the Chinese-made merchandise that built the riches of their owner.

4. Shut up about the Mavericks.

5. The Kansas City small media market and better entertainment options killed pro-sports in this town and my only suggestion for saving the sports scene in this town is to fire a lot of newsies and make sure that Lance Veeser sings at every high school football game - Just for kicks.

  1. If I hear or read one more person calling the foot fairies, "the lads", I'm going to throw up. SKC is an acquired taste. Unfortunately, like Obamacare, Obamaphones and Obamacash, too many people are acquiring it.

  2. Professional sports and Kansas City mesh like oil and water. The two just don't fit. There are NO professional sports teams in KC....NONE. Just face it, KC is a backwater, little town with no potential and very little past.

  3. Another ignorant article by the same ignorant Tony. Drop by their Crossroads offices and maybe they will let you hold that big shiny Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Trophy. You and your high school drop out posters may not appreciate it but that doesn't mean it isn't winning & important...and it gets SKC into the CCL (Google it)...you don't have to like them, but for your own credibility, you can't dis them either...otherwise you come off as a silly irrelevant fool....oh wait...

  4. Sporting KC has an office in the Crossroads? What a bunch of douches.
