"The ceremony will be held at a new Plaza location - on Nichols Road & Pennsylvania near Brio Tuscan Grille and Burberry. The stage will be located on Nichols Road, just west of Pennsylvania, and will face east. The new location features a larger gathering area that will allow for more attendees to have great views of the ceremony’s exciting onstage entertainment and the Flip of the Switch."
Real talk . . . The Plaza Lighting Ceremony used to be one of my favorite Kansas City events as a kid and then I saw somebody killed during a scuffle at the local gathering (around mid-90s); after that, not so much.
Still, this event offers fun for the whole family as long as you don't mind using the insanely disgusting restrooms @ Starbucks. Other than that, it should be a good night to fake civic pride and pray that a violent flash mob doesn't break out.
Jesus, is there any thing in this city you don't hate? Why the hell do you even live here? Seems like you belong in more of a mud hut society without the constraints of any government intrusion. Maybe try out Afghanistan or Somalia?

ReplyDeleteAll these people just to see a switch flipped. It might be different If most of the stores were open and people could shop afterwards, but they aren't so as soon as the fireworks are over then everyone leaves.
