WITNESS KANSAS CITY B-CYCLE BEGGING!!!

We notice Kansas City B-Cycles sitting unused as the weather turns a bit colder. Sadly, in this cowtown . . . Most people don't like being outside if the weather isn't PREFECT.

Even better . . .

IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO START A KANSAS CITY MORNING WITH MIDDLE-CLASS WHITE PEOPLE BEGGING FOR MONEY TO FUND THEIR (UNSUSTAINABLE) PET PROJECTS!!!

Take a look . . .

Sustain Kansas City B-cycle

The money quote:

"Kansas City B-Cycle is Kansas City's very own bike sharing system. KC B-Cycle is a non-profit organization that is entirely privately funded. We need your help to sustain KC B-Cycle and help pay for our capital costs."

Website: Kansas City B-Cycle

Meanwhile, it's interesting to Kansas City's political elite continue to cater to this town's cycling class who don't have much empirical evidence that they're improving local life but always seem to have their hand out like every other cowtown special interest.

Don't sniff the seat or you'll die.

Tony, you must have gotten out of bed on the wrong side this morning. Going after people for riding their bikes? Come on. Find something interesting about someone doing something wrong, not something right.

Fuck them! I'm not giving the stupid mother fuckers a dime!

The bikes are nice TKC. Ride one and you'll like it.

I didn't know it was privately funded. That's pretty awesome! I may consider using them knowing that.

It's not privately funded. They get BIG tax breaks from KCMO.

If people want to ride bikes it's their business, but the idea of biking to work or around downtown appeals to a tiny sliver of the population.
But this program represents something that happens over and over again and the folks at city hall just can't say no.
A little group of like-minded people get an idea, but no one will support and especially fund it. So if people won't VOLUNTARILY give these folks money, the group goes to the local government to get people to INVOLUNTARILY fund their dream by taxing the rest of us and giving away the cash.
Now the bike program is in place. It is not financially sustainable. It is a perfect prototype for the streetcar, but is nickels and dimes compared to what's coming.
But the process is the same over and over again.

Did those 3 people actually think they would make a middle-class-living off B-cycle? What happens to those bikes in the winter?
I'd rather give $ to the Bike Collective. They're the real deal.

I will donate $100 dollars today to this worthy cause. I sniff the seat for satisfaction. There is no better service in KC!

Will the new train have storage racks for the bikes like the metro busses do?

As a Hispanic small business owner of a bicycle courier service, I implore Tony to try my service and tell me that cyclists don't have an impact on local living: www.cowtowncouriers.com.

He can order all the food and beer he wants delivered, then write some more garbage from the comfort of his mom's basement.
