TKC TIPSTER EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY STAR SUPPORTS KEEPING RECENTLY DECEASED JUDGES IN POWER?!?!

A rather TIRELESS TKC TIPSTER does a bit of welcomed and appreciated fact checking of our Kansas City Dead Tree media institution . . .

KANSAS CITY STAR RECOMMENDS THAT WE RETAIN A DEAD JUDGE?!?!

This is an issue in KCK.

Oct 7: Richard D. Greene dies - Richard D. Greene, chief judge of Kansas Appeals Court, dies at 62

Oct 17: KC Star recommends that we retain Nancy Moritz and the 6 judges up for retention for Kansas Court of Appeals. One of those judges is the deceased Richard D. Greene: The Star’s recommendations | Retain well-qualified judges in Kansas, Missouri

He's not mentioned by name, it's just the 3rd paragraph from the bottom that says "We also recommend retention of Kansas Supreme Court Justice Nancy L. Moritz and six Court of Appeals judges. While the lack of information is a hindrance, the courts and judges have conducted themselves well."

The other 5 judges up for retention are:

Steve Leben
G. Joseph Pierron, Jr.
David E. Bruns
G. Gordon Atcheson
Karen Arnold-Burger

Sadly, I wonder if this kind of important fact-checking will be possible once the pay-wall goes up . . . We'll see.

Comments

  1. Not surprising. KC Star also supports Sly James and his inability to lead or invoke change that's needed. He fails at it because he's unwilling to listent to people who know. Instead, he lines up with the usual suspects and places a hat on it and calls it progress. When do we vote for Mayor again? Can't wait!

  2. Pierron is a political hack and a lawyer to lazy to do real lawyer work.

  3. Missouri elected a dead Mel Carnahan. Why not a dead Kansas judge?

  4. At least you get consistency if you vote for a dead guy
