Show-Me Higher Taxes For Smokes
Fox4 and I didn't know Missouri has 11th highest smoking rate in the nation: "Missouri smokers currently pay the lowest cigarette tax rate in the nation – but that could change in November if voters approve Proposition B. Currently, smokers pay 17 cents tax on a pack of cigarettes – if Prop B passes, that will rise 73 cents to 90 cents in total."

Considering that its poor people who overwhelmingly smoke, and considering that most poor people have medicaid, its in everyone's best interest to make smoking unattractive to these people. We're subsidizing their smoking. They get free medical care to pay for the smoking related diseases due in part to easy access to cheap cigarettes.

It takes seven minutes to smoke a cigarette. I smoke for medicinal purposes because it would be hazardous to my wellbeing to be without a cigarette and not have that seven minutes to use to reflect and consider better options other than killing a muthafukin redneck for saying stupid shit to me!
Put a sin tax on fast food. How about $1.00 on each fast food meal consumed at any fast food restuarant?

Why not aim to educate and prevent young people from starting then if their efforts worked they would reduce the amount of smokerS in the future.

I can afford it and I LIKE IT so now for the folks that couldnt afford it, I doubt it would force them too quit!! they would just steal to get what they need, just like an illegal substance they dont have the money for. So tax that shit and crime will rise once again!
