ReplyDeleteHere's what I don't get. Forte said that they will be submitting the case to Jackson County prosecutors..... How does this qualify for a state charge for assault? Especially in Jackson County. Most stabbing suspects are only given a city assault charge unless the victim is critical. In Jackson County you can literally strike someone with a machete in the head and unless it kills them, you'll only get a city charge. Don't think so? Trust me, I've seen it happen.

Isn't it the shits that the county prosecutor will collect bad checks, but the city can't sue and collect on behalf of this bus driver. Now there is an idea for an ordinance that might actually work for the community. Fat chance you'll ever see it happen.

Then there are all the nuaces surrounding disrupting public transportation. Instead the city will fine him (maybe), put him on some BS diversion program, give him probation or let him plead to a lesser offense.
