KANSAS CITY STOPLIGHT REMOVAL CONTROVERSY CONTINUED!!! COUNCIL DUDE JERMAINE REED TO THE RESCUE!!!

He has heard the cries of the people of the urban core . . . Here's the aftermath:

Councilman Jermaine to Introduce Resolution to Stop KCMO Traffic Signal Removal

This is a rather NICE sign that the 3rd District Councilman is listening to his constituents and working to stop an urban core controversy that speaks to the level of disparity on local streets.

  1. Well this should solve everything

  2. This is ridiculous. It's amazing how the sheeple really think a red light has some invisible barrier that stops cars over stop signs. They should be happy that the signs are a signal (no pun) that their neighborhoods are experiencing less traffic. City Hall...come up north and replace some if our idiotic traffic lights with stop signs. I'm smart enough to look both ways before I go!

  3. Maybe all it will take is a resolution to get people on the east side from killing each other. Reed should give it a try!

  4. Actually, this is a good issue for Reed.

But instead of a resolution he might want to try a binding ordinance to really make a difference.

  5. Let just ignore all the studies that have done by professionals that say light save lives and listen to an idiot blogger who say its allright. If you have a four way stop and no lights it a proven fact there are more accidents and you will be delayed longer do the research you moron.

  6. If Stop signs are so safe watch your insurance go up in this region because of the new risk number by your favorite insurance companies. I GUESS EVERY MODERN CITY THAT HAS LIGHTS WANT TO SPEND THAT MONEY INSTEAD OF HAVING THOSE SAFE STOP SIGN.

  7. I live in the City bring all those light you remove north to us in the City.

  8. Isn't it a violation of the city charter for a city councilperson to try to interfere with the management of the city? I suppose a resolution is a nonbinding way to signal disapproval from afar. But don't these council reps talk to the city manager?

    Here's the honest problem:
The niggs are pissed because a STOP sign requires one to read. Reading requires an education. An education requires going to school. Going to school requires getting up in the morning. Following the trail of laziness here?
A stop light only requires one to remember how "red light, green light" went when they were a child.

  10. He's still getting recalled!!

  11. 7:13, it is definitely an ethics violation. But from the way Reed handles his Council expenses, ethics are not of any concern to Jermaine Reed.

  12. Great! Let’s celebrate the monkey who ate the banana after only 12 hours of staring at it! The fact is that monkeys eat bananas. Albeit, this monkey (Jermaine Reed) struck a little too late. The banana is brown and unenticing.

Jermaine Reed hasn’t accomplished anything. While we this article is offering Reed a pat on the back, the movement started more than a year ago.

It would have been an accomplishment had he:
    1. Informed constituents about the issue.
    2. Invited constituents to public hearings PRIOR to this issue becoming the “red light controversy.”
    3. Resolved the issue before it became a controversy. We’re starting to believe Reed is a Drama Queen.
    4. Reduced his arrogance to a level that allowed him to see that building rapport with constituents, public trust and support doesn’t occur because you wear the prettiest suit or have the latest i-pad. (unless you’re TKC : P

The truth is Third District residents are the last to know and then when there’s push-back, politicos offer their lazy best to correct the issue. This controversy was totally avoidable.

Reverend Howard said it best, “You still don’t get it.” (referring to Reed)

A resolution will do little. The opportunity to “do” anything has already past.

If you need a better example visit: www.BlightMeKC.com and learn about East Patrol Police Project and how Jermaine Reed provided the assist to the establishment to steal from his constituents. Thanks, Jermaine! We knew we could count on you! #sellOut

  13. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Kudos to CouncilMAN Reed for getting this done.

  14. Lol, 8:50. All Reed has done is put it on the agenda. He hasn't gotten it passed yet. I seem to recall Reed once sponsored an ordiance to get a liquor license for a convenience store only to vote against it. What a joke of a council representative.

  15. @Blight they didn't have public hearings. Thats the problem.

  16. Reed is a do nothing with an enormous ego and no ability to get things too.

Who is this Jermaine Reed guy?

I like the cut of his jib!

  18. If fighting amongst themselves and calling each other names brought peace and prosperity to a community, the east side would be nirvana.
Instead of taffic lights, food deserts, urban gardens, digital divides, and all the rest of the superficial agenda, why not put at the top of the list getting residents to work with the cops to help curb the violence in the community?
Unless and until that takes place, nothing's going to happen east of troost except more folks will move out and the two homicides every week will continue.
So, of all the prominent "leaders", including Reed, Curls, and Brooks, who is going to lead that charge?

  19. Replace the words "STOP" with "ALTO" so that all the illegals will know what to do!
