Just for a moment . . . Let's look at the real world support for GOP Prez Candidate Mitt Romney on Kansas City's Westside.

Not even two cars . . .
For once I was at a local event on time . . . I even hung out awhile . . . But only because I had to walk.
Also, I'm eager to see Romney's Latino support and . . .
- There is not a single, major Kansas City Latino organization that supports Mitt Romney.
- Not one Latino Community Organization has come out in support for Mitt Romney - Most are non-partisan.
- In fairness, as a Chicano I was not only impressed with Romney's hair but also with the fact that he promised to let my people stay in this nation working crappy jobs much to the chagrin of the reactionary anti-immigrant crowd.
Obviously . . . 10 minutes after start time of this Latino "rally" for Romney . . . It was only the very likeable local Latino Conservative Angelo Mino talking to and trying to convince the equally agreeable local publisher Joe Arce.
Check The KC Hispanic News for an article later in the week because my friend and old boss Joe is much nicer than TKC.

Does anyone think it is a good thing to sell out to one political party? Hasn't seemed to work to well for KCMO or African Americans. Republicans are a much more natura fit than Democrats but Hispanic leaders will fail their communities just like the African American leaders.

ReplyDeleteThe simple fact is that when one ethnic community decides not to be part of a political party based upon their ethnicity, the members of that group are the racists. They are not being excluded. They are excluding themselves.
ReplyDeleteIf a political party doesn't care what ethnicity you are, then they are not being racist. If you identify yourself as something different and other people don't, it is not the other people's fault.
That is questionable logic and doesn't apply. THere are many Latino office holders who are Democrats and Republicans. You have a limited understanding of politics. I suggest you get out more often.
