FLUSH CREEK WATERSHED MOMENT!!!

Once again, for the record and for the cheap seats . . .

THE POOP CONTENT IN KANSAS CITY'S BRUSH CREEK IS TOTALLY DISGUSTING AND JUST ANOTHER SIGN OF THIS TOWN'S OVERALL FAIL THAT HASN'T CHANGED MUCH NO MATTER WHO HOLDS ELECTED OFFICE!!!

Nevertheless . . . There is still talk of improving the tragic situation. Or at least swirling it around.

Take a look:

Options for Brush Creek Near Bruce R. Watkins Drive

The website worth a look:

The Brush Creek Watershed

Description . . .

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

"This multi-purpose project includes a wide array of ecosystem restoration measures along Brush Creek in the vicinity of Bruce R. Watkins Drive, along with compatible flood risk management, recreation considerations, and water quality improvements. In particular, the hydraulic conditions at the southbound exit ramp bridge will be evaluated to identify flood mitigation related opportunities that may be combined with nearby ecosystem restoration and compatible recreational improvements (e.g. trail connections).

LOCATION AND EXTENTS

"The project is located along Brush Creek in the vicinity of Bruce R. Watkins Drive in Kansas City, Missouri. It begins between Bruce R. Watkins drive and Prospect Avenue and extends upstream to Woodland Avenue, a stream length of about 2100 feet. Most activities would be located between Swope Parkway and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard."

Again, there's no specific talk of fixing the poop or sewer run off but it seems like a nice way to waste more cash in the river of feces at the center of Kansas City. Natch.

  2. "A Shit River Runs Through It"...how befitting the town.

This is just another example of a regressing city. Could we get the Clown Prince of Mayors back. We didn't have it this bad under Wheeler.

The City as well as the school district needs to be taken into receivership and an independent governor appointed to sort this unending idiocy out.

    Mr. Tony,
I always carry an umbrella when I pass near the fountains in Brush Creek.
Beauty is important, but so is keeping crap out of your hair.
Those homeless men living under the bridges just off the Plaza must have to dodge a lot of poop.

  6. Cant they just plow it up and plant corn?

  7. Just the laest expample of the absolutely endless opportunities for consultants to feast at the public trough. Whether it's transportation planners working on the grandiose Sanders commuter rail syse, engineers cashing in on the streetcar fiasco, some group studying the idea of covering the downtown loop and building a park, or all the other ridiculous schemes that the mayor and council just can't say no to, the "studying" hits just keep on coming.
How's the guy from Seattle doing studying whether or not the UMKC Conservatory programs should be brought downtown at public expense to "increase density" and "create synergy"?
So round up the usual suspects and roll in some of the east side regulars if you want to really spend some bucks.
    A city that works.
    Just not for you.

  12. Not much action on a item that so typifies KC.

Wonder is KC residents numb to rivers of shit in their town.
