Tonight a deadly shooting scene shut down most of Kansas City's Westside.
Don't worry. I'm okay.
The homicide marks the 91st murder so far this year compared to 89 at this time last year.
They roped off a few streets and under the I-35 bridge on 20th street is blocked.
This is the second deadly shooting for Kansas City's Westside in two weeks . . . Strangely, the areas where the shootings happened don't seem to be "hotspots" or weren't so until these past two weeks.

KSHB: Police have closed the off-ramp from southbound Interstate 35 to 20th Street after a homicide Tuesday evening.
KCTV5: Police are investigating a deadly shooting on 20th Street near I-35 in Kansas City, MO.
KMBC: Police say one person was fatally shot on 20th Street in downtown Kansas City on Tuesday evening.

ReplyDeleteThat's a shame. I just don't understand what's wrong with people. Just the thought that you could have a desire to end someones life is so foreign to me that I can't fathom the thought process that leads on to do such a...... I just don't get it.

ReplyDeleteYou just stay inside until Chief Forte gets ahold of the situation. And how was the ambulance response time? The REAL response time, not that crazy stuff the KCFD reports to council members.
The city seems to be going to hell in a hand basket. I just might not go out tomorrow night. A shame not to don my fancy Halloween gear, a Super Mayor Costume. It comes with tights, a train conductor's cap....and a Bow Tie.
Maybe it's time to rethink the Chief's plan.

ReplyDeleteToo bad the two lazy officers stationed at the CAN center to protect illegals didn't stop eating burritos and come out and stop this shooting. Oh, I forgot, they only work the day shift. Dear shooter, next time you plan on shooting on the westside, please do it during the day. Thanks If an undocumented person is killed on the westside, and no officers are around to hear it, does it make a sound?
