Willingly giving up liberties to catch three buzzed drivers out of 200-500 vehicles RANDOMLY picked out of the stream over a four-hour period is exactly the kind of "if it saves one life" thinking that has this country so screwed up.
Yes, this guy did a stupid thing and he will be punished...and should be, to the fullest extent of the law. Until law enforcement agencies stop squatting on speed traps and SCP's looking for the easy tags, drunks and other shitty drivers will continue to take the lives of innocent people.

ReplyDeleteSobriety checkpoints dont have merit in places like Lees summit, belton, raymore etc, they just pull everyone over and check point them. Driving drunk is more common than most people think, with lack of law enforcement resources and the lack of really giving a shit, most drunks make it home ok, but sometimes drunk drivers kill people. Now a days texters are killing more people than drunk drivers...so where are the texting check points?

It's obviously much safer (and more worthy of my elite status in society) to simply commute downtown to work on I-35 from Johnson County then to risk your life driving on MoDOT's racist genocidal I-70. I'm also boycotting Missouri DOT by buying gas for my car in Kansas. Im also joining the anti-downtown loft movement.

ReplyDeleteWhat is the real problem people have with downtown "lofts"? I used to live in one in a smaller community (not near KC), before I moved to the metro. The people there literally HATED those of us who lived downtown. We got harrassments, death threats, public condemnation in the local newspaper. We also had local businesses refuse us service if it was known that we "lived downtown". It got so bad, I was forced to move, but fortunately, I moved out and got a new job in this area. But it seems that there is still some irrational hate towards the idea of "downtown", even here. What's the real deal with you people?
