Once again we're surprised by the interest already developing in upcoming Kansas City Council races . . .
To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY EAST SIDE POLITICAL LEADERSHIP AND OTHER LOCAL INSIDERS ARE CONFIDENT THAT COUNCIL DUDE JERMAINE REED WILL ONLY SERVE ONE TERM!!!
Kansas City's youngest Council dude has already survived a recall attempt and now there's ALREADY an effort to search for new leadership.
One Kansas City insider notes: "Jermaine really lucked into this job. There's no way he would have won on his own merits."
Remember that Councilman Reed earned his victory amid an INTENSE Eastside power struggle that ended in court.
Also, the learning curve for Kansas City Council Dude Reed has been exceptionally difficult and some major missteps has resulted when it comes to messing with City Staff and renaming Prospect to MLK Blvd.
Overall, we still think Council Dude Reed has a bright future and has accomplished a lot for somebody so young. But the reality of the situation is that East Side Political Leadership is ALREADY organizing against him and he has yet to develop a broad enough base of support to ward off his many outspoken detractors.

Social hour is over, folks! Unless there's substantial evidence of their ability to think (pipe dream) then none of them need to be legislators. Legislators? Kansas City has the DUMBEST stock of political legislators. No wonder!
