MIKE BABICK TESTIMONY: PRAIRIE VILLAGE COUNCIL KILLED CHRISTMAS!!!
There is no freedom of expression or religion in the suburbs: "A new Prairie Village ordinance regulating Christmas displays has a man notorious for his holiday decorations (Mike Babick) seeing red."

Ok for one if you have done a Christmas display for let's say 40 years it to me is a sad day when the government comes along and say nope you can't
I know there is maybe some traffic issues I am sure but every time I have been by there I have not seen such or seen a PV cop there.
Funny PV cops can sit in parking lots in their cars doing nothing a lot (which I have seen a lot of)so why would the city need to hire extra help.
To me the simple solution would to have been no stopping or parking to see the display and no tourist or school busses full of people driving down the street to see it.
It's the parking and huge ass busses that are the issue.
You might have a different opinion, Superdave, if you lived on Falmouth St., which I do. This is less an attack on Christmas than it is an effort to restore good taste. The people whop argue for this all live a sufficient distance away, and are likely limo drivers and their ilk.
Yes well 1:40 don't hold your breath.
The PV Post http://pvpost.com/2012/09/18/prairie-village-new-ordinance-requiring-permits-for-special-events-including-major-holiday-displays-12320 has no comments that support you opinion and in fact the Mayor wasn't at the meeting last night I am now finding out. So this story might not be all over yet.
Plus this isn't just about Falmouth Street. You few residents have upset the whole city now. This is a city wide thing now and will get very nasty before it is over. Money is being raised as I speak for all these events to happen.
Why not kill the displays? Christmas itself has been dying a slow death for the last forty years. Maybe the Muslims will give us a new holiday??
To hell with the Byrons and Muslims ruining everything. I say we give them all a bad day just like they did us.
I ran into a lady who unfortunately lived on the block that houses the plastic displays. Perhaps the forced bonhomie is just an extension of creepy.
No what is creepy is someone who reads this blog trying to use french words.
